Hi everyone, I'm a new eBay seller and having a ball. However I have just encountered my very first buyer who hasn't paid as yet. It's been 4 days so I've opened a case. Is this the right thing to do ? She has not responded to any contact from me and according to her feedback she is 100% but other eBayers have put negative comments next to a positive score. If I put my item on eBay again can I ban her from bidding again? Am I allowed to give her a negative feedback score ? Thanks heaps ๐

Welcome to eBay.
Rather than posting the link to the area on eBay that lets you block buyers I will let you know how to get there.
At the bottom of every page there are some links. Click on the 'Site Map' link. The site map is a great place to get lots of information and advice. Anyway, in the centre column there is a heading "Selling Activities". The second item under this heading is the "Block buyer/bidder list". Click that liink, when the page loads you click the "Add an eBayer . . . " link and then type in (or copy and paste) the ID of the eBayer you want to block. Then click submit and it is done.
Sellers can only leave a +ve comment for buyers. You have the option of leaving no feedback. If you leave a +ve with a comment that conflicts with the rating (i.e. a false +ve) then you will get an eBay policy violation if the buyer reports you. Better to do the UnPaid Item case so that the buyer will not be able to leave you feedback.
Come back here to the boards if you have any other questions, especially if you are unsure of a situation or just want to make sure you avoid policy violations.

Don't forget to close the case. I would only give it the 4 day minimum. Once the case is closed you will get your sales fees credited and can relist without fear that the non-payer will decide to pay.

Thank you so much. I will follow your advice.

Also set your blocks for members with more than one strike (in either 6 or 12 months) at least. This can stop serial NPBs from bidding in the first place. There are other blocks you can set as well.
My eBay>Account>Site Preferences>Buyer Requirements.

What Dave said
To put these blocks in place hover your mouse over account in your my ebay page and from the drop down click on Site Preferences then go down the list till you see Buyer requirements and to the right of that click on show then click on edit. From there you can put in place the blocks you want, to stop those you want to block from purchasing from you.

whatever happens, do NOT be tempted to leave a neg comment with a positive dot (and NO sellers can never ever leave a neg f/b for a buyer)
leaving a ''false positive'' can get you a policy violation on your account, issued by ebay, and not a good way to start out your selling career.
