COME ON EBAY UPDATE YOUR DELIVERY ETA TIMES TO MATCH 2016 MAIL CHANGES

Is there any reason why ebay has not changed the expected time of arrival time from 6 days for Regular mail to 8 days.

Australia Post has made it very clear, not only is Regular Mail cost increasing but it is now a slower service by at least 2 days on average.

I dont want to lie to my customers and ebay is tieing my hands here.

Late arriving mail can really hurt a seller, the only way I can see to increase my delivery times to show my customers the correct arrival time for my Regular mail posting is to list the item as being sent out of the country or by a courier service.

COME ON EBAY CHANGE THE DELIVERY TIME!!!!!!!!!!

Most of my customers are in rural locatons (not capital cities) and already are getting mail a few days later than normal, with these new changes its going to be 3-4 days more than the bs 6 day arrival stated by ebay.

change your handling times. If you now have one day handling time change it to 3 or 5 days. this will add extra time onto your estimated delivery. Most of us have already done this in preparation.

What is the trick for increasing your handling time beyond 3 days?

That's as high as my (non-store) listings will go..... I know there's a way to do it but can't remember what it is?

How can ebay change something that does not exist? There is no option for letter rate when you enter the delivery info so of course ebay treat it as a parcel, regular if you use standard delivery or the apropriate timescale if you opt for a specific service.

Yes - the reason is eBay pay very little attention to Australia Post.

The question was asked a few days ago, directly on eBay AU's Facebook page, and eBay replied with:

"Thanks for letting us know. We don't have any information about this yet, but we'll have this escalated and make sure to post notices of the updates on our site".

I would not advise holding your breath waiting for those updates, though.

It does exist the option for Letter rate (Regular Mail) in eBay speak is:

Standard Delivery (1 to 6 business days)

if delivery is a parcel then:

Australia Post Parcel Post Parcel (2 to 6 business days)

Lol, that annoys me nearly as much as their ridiculous arrival times !

As do many Sellers, I post mainly Large Letter - small items are sent untracked so from what eBay believe is available I use Standard Delivery.  But there doesn't appear to be any way I can offer Standard Priority.  I tried using standard and adding the extra 50 cents, but the system does not allow you to use the same service twice.

The same applies with Registered - you cannot offer Registered & Registered Priority, so for the time being I am hoping customers take the initiative to ask if they want Priority and that I don't get negged out of here in the next few months while the dust settles Smiley LOL

I have always had Same day/1 day handling time and never had a problem, in fact often get feedback comments about fast delivery (but I do always post same or next day) so I have been reluctant to change my handling time - but I think now might be the time to bite the bullet - apart from the ebay arrival times being stated, sales are sooooo slow, it's not viable to keep making the hour+ round trip to the PO everyday Smiley Sad

Lol, I am now using Standard Delivery (for Large Letters) and since there is no mention of Australia Post interpret that to mean 'Sellers Standard Delivery'  Smiley Surprised

That is the problem - eBay have never in my time allowed for Large Letter Postage - they choose to pretend it doesn't exist - so frustrating, especially now there are two levels involved
