I'd like to send the proceeds of my eBay sales into an account in someone else's name (I owe them money.. doing this will help pay it back a little quicker and will remove the temptation to spend it myself!!!!) Is this possible and if so, how do I do it? When I try to add a new account in the payouts section, the name is greyed out and I can't seem to change it. Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Ebay can prevent it, what happens after the OP receives funds to their verified account is a different matter.
Ebay will only pay to the account holders verified bank account, if that is unable to be completed then the funds go to ASIC

Just to add, it is actually illegal for ebay to pay anyone, other than the account holder, and then only to their verified bank account. I am sure the relevant authorities wont care about a supposed flaw in the banking system.

True.
If the OP changes their account details and has proof of ID for the recipient available to them. That is not one of the flaws.

True, but the verification process between all australian banks misses one important part, making it possible for me to attach anothers account, all I need from them is the microdeposit details, which in this case the friend would happily agree to.
Obviously by the 3 PM's I received overnight many are aware of it. In fact a little research and logical thinking and you will understand. How easy it is.
Hopefully over the next year or 2 the flaw will be legislated against. The estimate is that some 30 to 80% of fraudulent transactions in Australia could be stopped, as it has in other countries.

And there is your fraud. Highly illegal and would attract the attention of authorities that you do not want to get involved with.

Don't you still have to provide/upload a bank document with name, BSB & ACC, in your name (matching ebay) before a micro deposit is made

Thanks everyone... I thought as much. I'll keep going the way I am.

I have no idea what you mean, as I genuinely did NOT know. I guess I should have given how long I've been selling on eBay! I just thought it might be a way of paying back the person I owe money to. Go the Demons.

Good lord, your impression could not be more wrong! My question was genuine. Wish I hadn't posted it now!

EDIT: I've taken all of your responses on board and thank you for them. My question was misguided but genuine. FYI I don't sell enough or make enough money to do anything dodgy with taxes! Have messaged the moderator and asked if they can remove this thread. Sorry everyone.
