I have been selling on Ebay for years and have taken the step of opening a second account, to differentiate vintage from new clothing etc, As this is a new account, I only have a feedback of 2 at the moment. I am trying to upload about 8 pieces of clothing to the TOTAL value of around $300 - starting prices, (ie they are not $300 per piece, $300 would be the total value)- and am being told I cant because either Im not registered as a seller - Im pretty sure I am have gone thru the steps and linked to Paypal , or have exceeding my weekly selling activity limits whatever that means, I hardly think uploading about 8 things, total value around $300, could be exceeding my weekly selling activities - SIGH! Advice anyone?? : ) PS I am doing this thru Turbo Lister, would I be better off painstakingly listing each one individually ?

They must have changed it. When I tried to link to my other account, they wanted phone verification. Given I don't have a landline, that wasn't an option.
Phone verification never works on my landline for some reason. In frustration I called Ebay Customer Service and they told me to use my mobile phone instead.
I did, and the verification process worked perfectly. In other words, you sometimes CAN use a mobile phone to verify an eBay account. If you don't have a landline, it's worth trying... and if it fails call Ebay and ask them to assist.

For some new accounts, the monthly selling limit is 10. In the regular eBay webpage, under All Selling, go to the top and look for Monthly Selling Limits.
I am actually worried about this on a couple of my IDs, so I went looking. I'm trying to find this and cannot locate it. When you say "regular eBay webpage", do you mean under My Ebay???
eg: this page (direct link)
http://my.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MyEbayBeta&CurrentPage=MyeBayAllSelling
I can't see any messages about limits, so does that mean there aren't any?
I even looked on this (posting) ID which I verified as a selling acct a while ago, but have never actually sold anything. There is no messages anywhere that I can see.
Could somebody please verify exactly where the selling limits message appear. Thanks!

In your My eBay, mouse-over the Activity tab to bring up the sub-menu, then click 'Sell' (so, ignore Selling Manager if the ID is subscribed).
You should arrive at the basic selling summary page, and the selling limits will look something like the screen shot I've attached. (Mine - for this ID - is at the top of the page and from memory that's by default not design).
This is the page
the How selling lim
its work link goes to: http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/sell/sellinglimits.html

Thanks - I've looked on that page (on my IDs) and there's no limits mentioned that I can see
There are headings for Selling reminders, Scheduled, Active Selling, Sold, Unsold and Announcements. Is it supposed to be displayed under any of those, or somewhere separate?
Unfortunately your attached screen capture ended up so tiny that I cannot read it.
BTW - I know all about selling limits and what they are... what I want to find out is if I have any that apply to me. I am assuming that because all my selling IDs are under my real name that they are linked somehow, and I am "a good guy" all across the board B-)

If you click the arrow next to the attachment paperclip and then click the link you can view the attachment larger

As the-kazbar mentioned, the screen cap is an attachment that you need to click on in order to view in full size (I was too lazy to upload it somewhere else, then link back to it).
I can move the selling limits box the same as the others, but not delete it, so if it's not appearing on your summaries I can only presume it's due to one of two reasons. 1. You don't have a selling limit on that ID, or 2. You haven't attempted to sell and the limit has not yet been established (since it's effctively "negotiable" by what other links the ID has, both to other eBay IDs and credit card/PayPal account information). Name alone doesn't automatically link accounts, but pre-existing, established IDs & PayPal accounts do.
PS I posted the link to the selling limits page not because I presumed you needed it, but for the same reason kopenhagen did - in case others saw it in the screen cap and wanted to know where it led/what it said. ๐

As soon as I tried to list over 10 items on my new selling id I got a message saying I had reached my selling limit and a link to click to apply to increase the limit, I then had the option to verify an existing selling account which I did and the limit was removed.
Limits for selling designer labels, high priced items etc are a different matter and will often not be raised for a very long time, if ever.

Yeah I realise that. But what is silly is that the help page doesn't tell you how to find out what the limits actuually are!
