Well it seems the plan is that buyers only were never sent the emails re the price increase so while there is a lot of sellers shutting up shop there will be new sellers opening a store that will not know the difference re the new fees so they will not complain.
Recently there has been some threads with new sellers that have JUST open a store so unless they read the updates will not be aware of the price rise next month.
So where ebay will loose some sellers there will all ways be more new ones to take their place. ๐
One would hope ebay would have a message to advise of the new prices before they commit to opening the store now.

I for one am closing my store, not just saying it, and I've already started transferring across...not all small sellers are saying and not doing!

Wow, there's FREE POSTAGE now?? I can't wait to go to the post office tomorrow and start sending things to all my friends and family overseas for nix!!

Why didn't they do this years ago?
I'm thinking it would have been so popular that ebay would have been even bigger now than they are due to the great opportunity it offers new sellers to the site.
They really should have lifted store fees to $100 as a shop costs 40 times that amount and has no where near the traffic ebay has.
I'm just hoping there is a search option that excludes stores so that the smaller sellers are easier to find in future when they have closed their stores.

Ebay, do the LOGICAL thing...OPEN ANOTHER SITE & leave this site to the chinese junk, modern stuff, & wall mart department stores [it has become toooo 'listing repetitive' to redeem].....the 2nd site should be PUERLY for all the Antique, Old Wares, Rustic & Individual Hobbyists & Artists that ESTABLISHED ebay in the first place. {You can send the cheque for $1,000.000.00 for that business idea straight to my paypal account ta ! ].
I don't much bother searching on ebay at all anymore due to the PROLIFIC amount of MULTIPLE listings of the same plastic - 'vintage' rip-off look-a-likes etc,. & general modern junk. It takes about 4 pages of scrolling before you even come across something individual & unique on here these days .........YAWN how boring !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As for FREE POSTAGE - please put your greed down a rung or two, do you really think those outside of China & Large Sellers can afford to cover that cost or want to push the price of their goods up by another $15.00 or so $'s to cover the cost of anything over 500 grams. What planet are you people really from ???
I love the threat of lowered visibility for anyone who isn't prepared to 'toe the line on all the changes'.......in other words - we will still allow you to list ....we will still charge you fees .... but no one will ever find you again.......how noble !
I've been away from here for a while, burying people I love & coming back here to find this just reinforces all the 'sickness of the modern world' for me [and many others I know].
Just how many yachts & condos do you people each need ????????

I just did a random search for one of my book titles I have listed...came out second last on list way behind overseas sellers - mine was cheaper, fully detailed listing, 100% feedback rating all unlike alot of those above me. What have I done to deserve this I wonder? Given 100% customer service, posted quickly, great communication, honest listings, offer cheapest postage available, no handling/packaging charges and I live in Australia and I've been selling for around 10 years on Ebay. Only 2 weeks left to try and sell some more...sales have trickled to the point of ridiculousness and now I'm beginning to find out why I think! To be honest I can compare this site and the other site I'm going to as equivalent sales wise so far, but the other site I've had more people at least look at what I've got listed AND it hasn't cost me a cent!

Apparently eBay are going to make it so that buyers can choose sellers based on post code or something like that... I really don't know the details but hopefully it will mean that people who've listed on eBay.com.au AND have an Australian address will do better in the Best Match by default. We'll see.

I would also like to know when all these questions will be addressed.
Not a single reply to anything, thats not very good is it eBay.:O
Unfortunately this wouldn't be the first time eBay have invited its members to ask questions about new changes and then not bothered to post any answers ๐

I have a question for ebay pinks regarding the FREE POSTAGE - are we expected to offer FREE POSTAGE to overseas buyers as well as local buyers ????
Cost PROHIBITIVE if that should be the case !!
The last time I was selling on here I noticed a DISTINCT trend - one week all my buyers were from QLD, the next week they were all from WA, the week after that it was all VIC & S.A..........just HOW MUCH exposure is each seller actually receiving ebay ???? I copy every address to a journal so I can easily verify this.
I used to have a lot of overseas buyers also, that dropped DRAMATICALLY also.

It seems to me that eBay is now run by undecuated 19 year-olds with poor literacy skills very little idea of how the world works.
Is this true eBay? Please take the time to respond,
eBay could be AWESOME, and has been in the past -- why isn't it now?
