Hi All,
Did any one get an invite to join the click & collect option? If so whats the cost associated? Any ideas how it works for the seller?
Regards
Thalha

Gawd I wish eBay would just put a little more energy and effort into its core business - providing a web platform to sell on (that is as glitch free and easy to use and one would expect for the $$$ paid for the service by sellers).

Maybe I missed it but I couldn't see where anyone else had given an item number. I saw this one last night when I was browsing.
I clicked on select a store (just above the postage and under the item price) and it said there was no store available in my area. I tried both Ballarat and Geelong's postcode as they both have a Big W, but no go.

I have to say, I would much prefer to use the Free Post option than have to make a 3kl round trip and be tied down to a 7 day timeframe
I tried switching my location (via changing my default postcode for delivery quotes), but still couldn't get it up... Well, you know what I mean.
So must be based on primary postage address. Found the FAQs though, via the thread on the buying board, so if anyone wants a quick overview of how it's (supposedly) going to work...

I can see why it will come in handy for some (most of the articles about this have some stats suggesting numerous people take time off work to be available for deliveries o_O That sort of thing isn't much of an issue for me since work = home etc, and I have the PO box. It'll be interesting to see if Woolies will get a lot of new flow-on traffic from it though - I use a click-collect type service sometimes, but mostly because the online prices for that store are cheaper, so I look but don't buy when I collect. My local supermarket does provide some services that aren't your typical supermarket fare, but I never go out of my way to run up there for that, then shop at the supermarket, I more go to shop at the supermarket and grab that stuff 'cos I'm there and it's there... so just speaking personally, I can see it being more of a thing people will choose if they go to Woolworths as a matter of course, perhaps less so if it's not a normal part of their routine).

The option showed up for me, but then said there was nothing available in my area (Central West NSW), which I expected. I put in my brothers postcode in Sydney and it gave 10 options for collection points.

There was a T&C's in the listing after the pick up options came up http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/policies/clickandcollect-terms.html

Thanks 🙂 The 'Simply Collect' option was displayed on that listing for me, but likewise, got the 'no store near you...' result. Looks like there isn't much more info available than basic instruction and the FAQs - wonder what happens to an item if a customer doesn't collect, whether the seller gets it back - the FAQs say the buyer isn't eligible for a refund if they don't collect within 7 days of being notified it's awaiting collection (well, not via eBay's MBG, anyway, PayPal would still consider it a posted item, I presume).

I tried putting in postcode 2000 on that one. Over on the right under the instructions it says returns accepted in person at the store only. That's a bit ambiguous. Does it mean if you're returning via the store you can only do it in person, or does it mean that's the ONLY way to return items?

states returns are not collected in the pickup locations, but at the seller's store only

Woolies aren't going to be employing staff and allocating space for parcel lockers for free for eBay parcels... what do they get out of it? Sellers have to pay them a fee?
Aust Post parcel lockers are in limited places also at present, mostly major cities?
