Hope somebody can give me a quick answer.
Buyer paid by bank deposit, sent item via click and send, buyer claims not received even though tracking says delivered.
I can chase it up with austpost, but if no joy am I still protected by sending by click and send even though buyer did not use paypal to purchase item?
Or do I not have a leg to stand on?

Nothing will protect you from poor customer service save a rethink on application...You will have only one leg to stand on while the foot from the other is firmly implanted in your mouth.
The fiscal mode that the customer used to pay for their item should not control your response to them.
"I looked at their feedback and a numpty seller had put a false positive to say that buyer claims their item never received and was rude and abusive hmmm, as I kept looking at f/b, more false positive to say unreasonable and rude buyer so I may be in for a neg no matter what I do."
Why do bother to look if you disagree with the practice???... Do you think it may be a tad hypocritical to search and utilize the information that other sellers hidden signals leave when you do not leave any yourself ???
Actually its quite sad that I need to resort to these tactics as some sellers just dont know any better.

I leave feedback for all that buy my items, whether they pay or not.
I am not a numpty X-(
I believe I am an excellent seller and an intelligent person :-x.
As far as policy violations go, the policy is actually that buyers must request removal and that the feedback left must be "sufficiently negative" Removal is just as subjective as seller feedback removal requests are too, Within that parameter, it is my decision to do as I see fit, in the context of contributing to a safer trading place.
The way ebay is operating at the moment, all sellers are running the policy violation gauntlet anyway, for everything they put into a listing unintentionally, so non-paying buyer feedback removal is the least of my concerns.
Why other sellers would care what other sellers do in relation to leaving feedback for a non-paying bidder remains a mystery to me, but cling to straws if you like.
The sellers that do leave comment for non-payers or scamming buyers are doing the ebay selling community a service as far as I am concerned.
Sellers who follow the correct procedure and raise non-paying disputes against time-wasters is doing the ebay selling community a service as far as I am concerned

Queen Kong, trust me, it is ridiculously easy to have a non payment strike removed. They get a link in the email that notifies them of the strike, click on it, enter a weak excuse and the strike is instantly removed.
I always open disputes if people dont pay, but serial non payers would already know how easy it is to get rid of the strike once issued.

As far as I am concerned feedback has nothing to do with how I treat a buyer, neither does how they have paid.
If I had sent with click & send and it said delivered then I would certainly contact AP on the buyer's behalf but I would then see it as their responsibility to chase it up at their end as somebody has stuffed up the delivery.
If a seller had already left feedback to say the buyer claimed not delivered then that would lead me to suspect a problem with their delivery service, it wouldn't make me think they were trying to scam a refund or freebie.

How ridiculous. You would think that ebay would notice a pattern of this behaviour with serial time wasters and start declining their requests or better still just suspend or ban their account. Just one more thing going against us sellers.

And after they ban that member they create a new ID and start it all over again.
At least when the seller has done the "wrong" thing with a neg FB it can be a warning to other sellers if they read it and as seen here sellers do read buyers feedback sometimes.
As has been said, there is some FB saying item did not arrive, so this should ring alarm bells if there is too many.

I have since contacted the buyer, apparently they have had several parcels go missing as they apparently contacted austpost and were told that this happens if sent to incorrect address.
As many C&S users know there is no way we can get the address incorrect unless deliberately changed by seller and/or the buyer enters an incorrect address.
I have a gut feeling that this buyer is trying it on, as that was their argument but I will chase it up with Austpost anyway.

QueenKong - Have you confirmed with the buyer their address details to see if they provided the incorrect address details?
I don't use Click and Send but are you able to get a copy of the address details in click and send which you sent it to. If you can I would email them a copy of that information and advise them that the parcel was sent to the address they provided when they went through checkout.

Hi Jen yep did all that you described above hence my ever growing suspicions. I got the buyer to confirm address and I looked it up under item history in C&S, sure enough same info. Just spoke to Auspost and they will investigate it further.

yes, it is ridiculous
and without those sellers leaving truthful feedback for non-payers, no-one would be the wiser
