I am a seller on Ebay and I am havv ing some trouble with a buyer, this buyer has bee very rude to me and is now refusing to pay for some lights that he has bought from me. He has been very obnoxious in his messages and I don't think that anybody should have to put up with that.

You don't need to put up with it.
Just open an unpaid item case after 4 days from sale date then close it 4 days later.
You will get your fee back and the buyer will get a strike on their account.
Once the case is closed, neither party can leave feedback.
Most of sellers here don't even open messages from a member whom begins to become abusive.
Just follow the eBay process for dealing with a non payer.

You are Waisting your time as a Seller ,Ebay only cares about it's Buyer.'s
As a Seller you get Punished by Ebay Staff You got no Rights as far as they are Concerned
Examples :
1 : A Buyer can liar about a product to get a Refund , Ebay will Give it to them and call you the Liar
2 : Try and Report a Buyer There is no option for a Seller to do So.
3: Try and Appeal a return item request , Again no Option for a seller to upload Photo's or other Documents
4 : A Buyer can leave you a Negative Feed Back and get away with it .The Seller Can'
5 : Ebay will Refund the Buyer , But as a Seller you Lose Money As they only Give you a Credit back on listing Fees So if you dont sell
Any Thing else you lose that Money Also You dont get back what Paypal Takes.
As a Seller on Ebay For the last 8 Years i Will Be taking my Business Else Where unless Ebay Change's the way they Treat there
Sellers
No Wonder Ebay is losing 100's of Seller per Week

@ Peewee
Nothing like a bit of fresh and current information Peewee. Iโve had some issues to deal with on both sides of the fence lately and all I can say is that eBay have acted courteously, promptly and appropriately in each issue in my opinion, especially if you ring and speak politely with someone. in fact, theyโve been very helpful. And no, Iโm not an agent for eBay. I just believe some people create problems for themselves in the way they approach issues.
Credit where itโs due I think ๐
