DSR ratings

What a surprise!!! I get the following feedback and the next day I get a low DSR rating for postage time.

"11 days from Sydney to Adelaide ??"

The order was posted the same day as placed out of queensland.... Not only is the buyer rating me on the service provided by Australia Post but they didn't even know where the order was shipped from......

Oh I hear ya! I got low DSR for postage as the item was waiting at the post office for them....not my fault Aus Post didnt Red Card them yet somehow I get punished and now lose my TS status. All it would have taken was a phone call/email but nope....apparently its easier to trash someone stars X-(

You have close to 1000 DSR ratings, so not much chance one person doing much damage.  The buyer is a newbie; you could send them polite note saying that actually you are in Queensland and that you posted day after they paid, the rating is NOT for how soon they got it , but how fast you posted, and if it did take 11 days that is AP fault.

Are you sure they marked your stars down?

I actually think that a low DSRs result in poorer sales buy the ranking for an item changing and overall sales as well (as in it effects all listings), I have been selling for over two years now and it seems there is a clear pattern of lower sales rates even when 3 or 4 stars are left. There also seems to be a delay of when the actual drop takes place. I do get the monthy rating thing on the 20th of each month and don't mean dropping on that date and also know that losing TRS apparently changes ranking.

I did send them a polite email but no resonse as yet. I am not 100% sure it was them. I think it is against ebay policy to try and "work out" who posted the DSR ratings or impliment a system to do that. I also didn't think they made public the ranking algorythm they use but I have seen posts that would suggest otherwise..

Maybe I can get it removed on the basis that the feedback does not represent the actual transaction that took place. Cant please everyone I guess...

The listing doesn't actually say that that item is in QLD, all I can see is that it's from "Warehouse 13 Australia"

How would the buyer know from where it was shipped if the location isn't in the listing? We aren't mind readers you know

Very true Patchoo, but then the buyer really should not have assumed it was Sydney either.

Same old same old, can't please all the people.......

I am going to assume OP that the 11 days also included at least one weekend making it only 9 business days, but no buyer wants to hear that any more than  they want to know the cost of postage (until the time comes and they need to return something at paypals request)

That is puzzling... I'm assuming the buyer has the item so it should say on the postmark from where it was posted.. Even so, the seller really should have put the correct location in the listing

I have incorporated postage into some of my BIN prices and give free postage.

I am hoping that this helps avoid a downgrade like that...

With nearly a thousand qualifying ratings one low DSR would not impact on your overall percentage, there would have to have been several others rating you the same while there were probably higher ratings dropping off the back.

Your DSRs are exceptionally high for your volume of sales so I have no idea why you would be the slightest bit concerned.
