Does anyone actually bother doing those survey questionnaires. Ebay could not care less.

Has anyone actually bothered to respond to those dumb questionairres you get after wasting your time speaking on the phone to Ebay? We all know they never get read and any issues or complaints are never responded to or fixed. A seller on Ebay ranks just above the the stuff being pumped through our sewage pipes by their staff

to padi , as you said everybody has there say , but how is this post helping any ebayer , what sort of a question is [does anyone actually bother doing a ebay survey] how is that going to help a buyer or a seller. please explain someone.and posters are posting I dont rate ebay,  i dont rate ebay ,as soon as someone says I rate ebay highly, all hell breaks loose,

Interestingly joe, I have had one of those surveys drop into my inbox this morning after contacting CS about a problem, that problem hasn't been resolved (as yet) to my satisfaction, though I do have 5 days to reply so hopefully it will be resolved within that timeframe.

Resolved or not I was less than happy with the CS reps "solution" and it took a fair while before they would even look at emails sent to me by them before admitting it was "probably" their problem. Instead of it being fixed on the spot they said it would be up to 10 days before they could sort out their problem. Do you think they should get glowing feedback on a survey in this case?

To reply to your other post, your first post on the boards was on 28-2-2015

what sort of a question is [does anyone actually bother doing a ebay survey] how is that going to help a buyer or a seller

Joe, not every post on the seller board has to HELP either buyers or sellers.  The boards are not only for help, they are also for meaningful discussion and social interaction.

Meaningful discussion includes discourse on the shortcomings of the site and its management, even if that does disagree with your own views on the matter.  Disagree by all means, that is what discussion is all about, but you can do so without being rude and dismissive of others opinions.

Cheers,

Penny

Joe, you may have been registered on the boards for a number of years but you certainly have not been posting on the boards for all of that time UNLESS you have been using another ID which you profess to find such an abomination.

So which is it.....only posting for a few months or being devious about the number of IDs that you have?

Joethenuts:  I am glad you have had a great experience selling on Ebay but you are in the minority. Ebay does not  allow us to sell on this site. WE pay their wages. As a wage payer, I expect to be treated fairly and with respect. I am not. Obviously many many sellers have the same problem.

I can assure you that Ebay is deliberately an systematically stealing from both buyer ans sellers. I will not post evidence of this on here but lets just say Ebay would have a MAJOR issue legally if I presented the evidence I have to a court. However, this is beside the point.

The feedback system is a disgrace. The refund policy is a disgrace. It allows false and dishonest claims. 99% of buyers are fair and decent but that 1% can cause a lot of damage to a business. Ebay could not care less and NEVER responds using common sense.

That is the problem

sorry disagree , ebay does not have to allow you or anyone to register on there site, if they allow you to register be thankful , as I have said if you dont like it ,theres the door. sometimes businesses have to be tough , and in the long run theres a reason, we dont have to like all policys , but thats the way the world goes by.

My goodness.  What part of being a consumer of a service we pay for don't you get Joe?

Of course eBay does not have to "allow" people to subscribe - but once a seller has subscribed to the service we have some very clear consumer rights to expect ALL service delivery promised and paid for to be honored.

In our Oz free market economy that is underpinned by very clear principles and legislative framework,  traders should also not have to put up a third party web platform service provider interfering in our trading activities to their detriment.

eBay also provides these discussion boards for discussion about eBay related matters, which as it relates to selling will from time to time include mentions of the outside world competition to eBay and complaints and criticism of eBay.

Re: Does anyone actually bother doing those survey questionnaires. Ebay could not care less.

Up until 12 months ago I also filled out the surveys, maybe not brown-nosing but giving eBay the benefit of the doubt when scoring and filling the comments boxes.

But, as the goal posts have kept moving, and we have become less autonomous in our dealings with our Buyers, I have filled out these surveys more honestly - bringing up site glitches, website crashes, no thorough evidence-based process to sort out disputes, throttling, etc I have had much slower sales (March-May 2014 590 transactions - March-May 2015 195 transactions so far) Lucky I am only a hobby seller!!

It may be a coincidence but sales in the 2-3 weeks after completing a survey not recommending selling on eBay sales are very scarce and some of my regular Buyers say they are unable to to find me, my store or my listings unless they are on their watch list.

I understand that eBay is providing a platform for us to sell BUT we are paying for that service, through listing fees, FVFs, postage FVFs and store fees. It is the service that isn't being provided to us (their customers) when we pay for this it that is most frustrating. Too much like a one way street.

Service and trust needs to go both ways - between users and eBay and between Sellers and Buyers - and it did but the defect system etc has eroded this, sadly. I wonder if we will ever get it back.

I understand that the world has moved on but it can't be right that they can take our money for a service they say they wil provide and only provide part of that service, when they feel like it.

Just giving you my two-bobs worth Smiley Wink Jo

bla  bla  bla , hey whats your problem , they dont owe you anything , so you dont like there policys ,simple dont use them , look everybody cant be happy all the time , when you run a 50 odd billion $ business  you have to look after shareholders and so , remember all these changes are because of bad sellers , no1 selling articles for bugger all and puting on a huge postage ,

no2 buyers wernt gatting there parcels ,ebay had to  act .simple follow there rules if you dont like them go away, is anybody forcing you to stay. look I just got a rise of 12% on my storage rooms today , am I happy  no , but I have a choice stay or go somewere else simple.
