I would like to ask ebay this question directly but it is so awkward to get in touch with them. Question: Why are there commercial advertisments on my ebay listings? I did not authorise any such advertisements. I paid for the listing(s) therefor I consider it is my decision as to whether I want commercial advertisements appearing on my listings. And if I elect to have advertisements appear, then I should be compensated and/or recieve some sort of click thru fee.

I don't see any ads on any listings, or any webpages at all for that matter.
Stop using Internet Explorer and download either Chrome or Firefox (I use both, but Chrome is my preference). Install the AdBlock Pro extension (free). You won't get ads or pop ups on any page ever again, except the rare time when AdBlock crashes.
If you're not sure how to find browser extensions, sing out and I'll give you instructions. AdBlock is only available for Chrome and Firefox as far as I know.

No offense, but it doesnt really matter what you consider to be yours or not. Ebay is allowing you to list on their site, and they change do whatever they want with their site. You cant claim ownership over an Ebay page (you legally cant). You agreed to the ads when you signed up to Ebay.
You have next to no rights over restricting how Ebay uses what you post either - Ebay has that covered well and truly.
The ads you are talking about, i think, are the adchoice ads. They are targeting marketing toward YOU. Ebay stores everything you do, both inside and outside of Ebay, similar to the way Facebook does. You dont even need to be on Ebay for them to be tracking what you are looking at and searching for online -
"In order to show ads tailored to your interests, eBay Inc. may use information about you, such as the content you view or the search terms you enter. You have the ability to opt out of these customised ads at any time.
We think these customised ads can help us improve your experience whether you are on eBay Inc. websites or anywhere else on the web.
If you decide to opt out of customised advertising, please keep in mind you'll still see ads, but they won't be tailored to your interests.
You can read more about our privacy policy or continue to AdChoice advertising preferences to opt in or out of customised ads.
Please also note that opting out with AdChoice doesn't affect the ability of third party advertisers to set cookies. For more information on third party advertising cookies please visit either: www.aboutads.info/choices orwww.youronlinechoices.eu"
opting out doesnt remove the ads, and it makes no difference what web browser you are using for these types of advertising.

It's in the user agreement.
Basically, you pay eBay for advertsing space for your item(s), but they retain ownership of that space and can do what they like with it while you're 'leasing' (most of) it, including place third party advertsing on it.
In a nutshell, by using eBay and creating listings, along with being able to advertise / sell your items etc, you agree to pay eBay to create space for them to advertise other items that they get paid for.
Adblocks are great, available for most browsers (all except IE, I believe), pity you can only make sure it's installed on your own browser(s) though, and not those of anyone who is actually looking to buy your items.
