From my dashboard it appears that I have an active promotion Free Fixed Price & Auction Listings with a remander of 38 free listings, however since opening a store my auction listings are incurring an insertion and Buy It Now fee. Is this correct that you lose access to the free auction listing when you opt for a store?

Excellent advice from Kopes.
We badly wanted a store and honestly investigated all this most thoroughly before we started on eBay again and even if we did have a couple of hundred constant listings I doubt we'd go down that track. There are other 'bits n bobs' you lose too.
Different horses, different courses though.
Best of luck.

With only 20 items listed and most of them in auction format you are completely wasting your money. Even if they were all BIN listings you would still not be covering your store costs effectively.

I plan on listing more items. Than what is currently in the store. Thanks

As was said earlier, you need to have over 150 or so listings for a store to be viable - and you also need a good sell-through rate.
If you don't have both of those then the store fees will eat up all your profits, and you may well end up selling for a loss.

You lose your 38 free auctions, but you get 600 minimum BIN listings a month.
