I've just joined Ebay and have recently sold my first item. So far so good. Problem is, Ebay keeps asking me to update my bank details.
The sale apparently went through but a few days later I got a msg from Ebay saying I needed to update my bank details (a/c no. and BSB. I did, and then I got a msg saying the funds would be in my bank a/c within a couple of days. This has happened 3-4 times since last month and a few days ago I received another email saying 11/1 would be the last day I'd be able to claim the money. I'm hoping this is just part of the whole silly loop that seems to be going on.
Ebay "help" has been totally UNhelpful. None of the questions addressed the issue I have and when I typed my msg into "contact", it just spat back a link to the help page, which had nothing of value for me, as noted.

You are a new seller, so if the link doesn't explain well enough, go to HELP (top of page) and conduct a 'live chat' with eBay.......fudge your issue.....tick anything until you get through

Have you actually signed up for Managed Payments?

You must verify your identity with photo ID. You must also verify your bank account with either login credentials or the microdeposit method.
If you haven’t done this, you will not receive any payment.

Thanks. I'll look into it and get back to you if it works. Please note, however, that I've actually never been asked for a photo ID. As I have explained above, it keeps saying I need to update my bank details. The fields for my bank a/c no.. and bank's BSB are blank when I log in, even though I've filled them out before, and then I give them again-for the umpteenth time-and then it gives the all clear-for the umpteenth time, only to say the payment didn't get through-for the umpteenth time.

Thanks for your reply.
As I explained in my first post, I DID go to the Help section, and it turned out to be a complete dead end.

Then you have not verified your ID. This isn’t a “they haven’t asked me for that” issue. It’s a distinct, must-do issue. You must provide your photo ID and you must verify your bank account — period.
There is no way in heaven or hell that eBay will disburse your funds if you have not verified your identity with photo ID and also if you have not verified your bank ID. They will not.
Go through the Managed Payments registration process; if after that you are still experiencing problems with your bank account details not “sticking”, then at least you can rule out the most obvious reason for the problem.
I can really only repeat that you will never get your funds if you don’t (1) verify your identity with photo ID, and (b) verify your bank account with either the micro deposit method or the login credential method.
Hmmm… is the bank account you’ve specified an everyday transaction account with an Australian bank? You can’t use a savings account.

My verified bank account is my savings account. I've had no issues with payments going in. Where does it say you can't use a savings account? That is what majority of people would have. I don't even know what an everyday transaction account is. I searched my bank and there is nothing resembling anything close to that name.
I also didn't have to provide a photo ID, just the micro deposit amounts. That said, I signed up in the early days of managed payments, so it may have changed now. I do recall, I had the option of a photo ID, like a licence, OR micro deposits. Not both. Have you signed up for managed payments?

Tip
The bank account you link to receive funds must be a transaction account. It can't be a savings account.

For the OP - (probably should read both links)

This must have changed since I began selling again.
I have never had to provide photo ID - and the account into which funds are paid is a Savings Account.

I had to provide photo ID and a transaction account.
But I was an early adopter.
