Am I wrong, I was to believe that when we sell item internationally a shipping fee was exempt?
We list our items post free, this Ebay forced us to do, of course it is not free we have to pay for it. Ok that we cannot argue with as no one will listen even consumer affairs. But when an item is sold outside Australia looks like Ebay double dips , they get there cut out on the total price which is post free, but also takes there cut out for shipping cost outside Australia.
for example if we sell an item within Australia post free for $100 which has our shipping cost and Ebays extra free for shipping imbedded in selling price fine! , but if this item needs to be sent to the UK and cost $80 to send, they double dip and take a shipping fee out.
Not sure if this is fair , no wonder they encourage us to ship outside Australia , but if we are going to lose money on the deal then it is no worth all the hassle.
WHEN DOES THIS EVER END GREED IS ALL THE EVEL

Youre not selling items outside of Australia, unless you, the seller, are outside of Australia, or have a business in another country that you are selling through. You are simply posting to another country.
Ebay charges shipping fees. End of story.
Theres two things you can do -
1. Fix your pricing structure. Most people here will say incorporate your postage costs into your item prices, OR, cop the loss (and theres plenty of reasons to actually do just that). You can certainly do either, but both these things are extremely basic and show lack of business acumen. If you dont understand pricing structures (not just literally assigning a price to various items) and business financials, then take the TIME and effort to teach yourself - theres plenty of short courses and tutorials online. But it will take some time and effort.
2. Move on. Theres plenty of other places to sell stuff. No one is forcing you to stay here and pay anything to Ebay at all.
Meanwhile, perhaps look at the cost of selling on Ebay as a total cost per item, rather than breaking it up into fee types.. maybe itll be less stressful. The cost is the cost - the name of the fee is irrelevant.
You control your profit, item costs, etc etc. you have control over your business, not Ebay. Costs are a given for ANY business. Adjust the things you have control over to make your business viable. This isnt Ebays responsibility.

ebay have got this one completely skewed, probably because Global Shipping is available in both the UK and US which means that a lot of sellers only pay local delivery costs to ship over seas and PB charge the rest, the buyer sees the total but the seller is only billed for domestic delivery. Even on non GS sales ebay only charge the shipping percentage on the lowest shipping rate so I think every Aus seller is well within their rights to complain to ebay about the ridiculous fee charged for shipping overseas. I rarely listed as available overseas before but would certainly not do so now unless Australia id put on an even footing with the UK and US.

There is an option for Handling fee for International Postage. you can always recoup by adding the Int. Postage Fee paid to Ebay through this option.
Although of course depends on where you are sending to.
I have added a Handling Fee especially for low listed items as I found on some items say $10.00 the fees Int. Post and Paypal meant it really wasn't worth he effort!

Last time I checked, if you sold something internationally on the US site, you would only be charged the FVF of the cheapest local shipping price component. So AU sellers selling to overseas would be hurting from the double whammy of high international shipping costs and being charged the full FVF on that shipping cost.

Around 25-30% of my sales are to OS clients. Most of the time I just add ebays FVF to the clients postage cost, so it doesnt cost me anythingh. The buyer pays ( as should always happen with any business costs if you want to stay in business ). The larger items I sell have figher profit margins built in. With these I sometimes subsidise the postal cost, as it is still better to make some profit on a sale rather than no profit on a non sale
