Sold an item, buyer paid, generated postage label. Note on the postage page it says “you won’t be charged until you print the label”.
then an error pops up noting there was a problem, so I generate the label again and this time it prints.
this was a couple of weeks ago, item was posted and received by buyer.
today I noticed on my orders page for this particular order “multiple parcels” that’s weird 2 labels only 1 item.
so I contact eBay via chat to request a credit and was told I would not be refunded because I did not cancel the label within 5 days.
what a crock of s@&t.
As I explained, I did not know 2 labels were generated and it’s ludicrous that I pay for 2 postage labels when their system stuffed up!
Also said this had happened once before and I was refunded for the duplicate label. He/she just kept repeating I didn’t cancel within 5 days of generating the label.

That has always been the case for AP labels via ebay, as AP need to be advised of cancellation within the specified time, so they can ensure the label is not used. Ebay on occassions will give a refund as a matter of goodwill, which would appear to be the case for you previously. Personally I dont see any reason for them to make a second goodwill payment, as you should be aware of your responsibility due to previous event.
Ap labels have always been charged at time of generation, not when printed or shipped.
