Ebay removing original items as counterfeits

They're at it again. This time they so far removed over 30 of my used tapes, video tapes, etc. All with clean  labels, no mention of any artist or music what so ever. Provably original Japan tapes, Ebay claims they're counterfeit.

I think I know the cause because they send me this in the message.

"This determination was made using automation or artificial intelligence. "

So they are replacing human interaction with AI and these are the results. I expect thousand of perfectly legit listing being removed with no way to auto relist them or get an apology and credit for waste of time  from Ebay. Enjoy your listing while you still have them.

Re: Ebay removing original items as counterfeits

Yup.  I've seen it.  We have some custom items that are very clear NOT original product.  Yet they were removed for being counterfeit.  The Princess bride meme came to mind.....

"you keep using that word.  I do not think it means what you think it means"......

Re: Ebay removing original items as counterfeits

Up on my appeal it clearly shows the removals are done by AI, absolutelly no human interaction any more. Never even bothered to reply to my question what is counterfeit about the item. It's sickening.

I'm just gonna relist them and that's it.

"We reviewed your appeal of an action on your account. Upon further review, weโ€™re unable to grant your appeal because the listings arenโ€™t following our Counterfeit item policy. We removed this item to protect you and your buyers, because we believe it is likely to be counterfeit. To make this decision we consider the details you provided about your item, reports that we receive from brands or members of the community, buyer feedback or the reasons buyers returned the item. Please do not relist this item."

Re: Ebay removing original items as counterfeits

Yes, itโ€™s bot-driven. Were you not aware that eBayโ€™s processes do not as a rule involve human decision-making?

No, you should not relist - unless you are looking for punitive measures including higher fees, suspension, or even being permanently banned.

You need to work out why this has occurred, solve the issue, and only then list.

I'm betting the answer is in the TITLES, hence why I asked

Re: Ebay removing original items as counterfeits

you can't assume there was an issue to be corrected. Sometimes bots make mistakes.

If a platform is going to delist an item and nobody there can explain why then there is an issue.
