I have had missing items refunds against me sending to Spain and no longer offer postage to Spain.
I also don’t post to Africa, Italy, Turkey, Sth and Central America, India.

If it is the Kang and Kodos, unfortunately some buyers may want it as a colletable in mint condition and postal workers or carriers no matter what country it's going to can handle things not so carefully.
They could also be trying to get the item and a refund.
I would message them saying that you are happy to refund upon the return of the item.
Then you will see if they are keen to return or not.
(You cannot provide a postage label as normally done for a return in Aus because it is International so buyer needs to pay for return initially)

Maybe ask him for more detailed photos of the damage to the item itself and see what they come up with

I've had problems posting to Canada, Russia and Israel. Just to let you know.
I now only post to NZ, UK and USA
The Kang and Kodos should have a perfect box for collectors.
It should have been double boxed with a lot of protection inside.
