Free listing promotion is not free

I have just received the latest free listing promotion to list as many items from 26.2.19 - 5.3.19

All looks good until you try to use it.

You will still get charged $1.65 for each one.

Not happy.

Re: Free listing promotion is not free

I don't mind a little bit of work, but this is ridiculous

I have around 4,500 items spread over several accounts, that i have to manually relist as auction one at a time.

Thats a lot more than a little work. very Frustrating.

Why on earth are you doing it the long way round instead of using the shortcuts available? Do you prefer to be a martyr and have something to whinge about???

Re: Free listing promotion is not free

For this particular promo they need to be new listings.

Bulk relisting won't trigger it. It will trigger fees instead.

I am, personally, unaware of any way to 'sell similar' in bulk, but I would be happy for enlightenment.

Re: Free listing promotion is not free

You can list multiple items as Sell Similar in Seller Hub from the Manage my Unsold Listings page, just tick the items that you want to 'sell similar' on the LH side and click on sell similar at the bottom of the page.  I also note that since yesterday the T & C on my offer link has changed, now no mention of the first 10 items no FVF or only for new sellers so it seems that may have been a glitch which has now been corrected.

Just got off the phone to them, they recognise it is a problem, I relisted 4 items and they credited the fees on the spot.

My total current relisting fees where about $37, it should have been $0, this occured with automatic relisting from other items.

They credited back the lot.

You need to check your invoices and call them for a credit.

Re: Free listing promotion is not free

Why don't people just wait for the weekend promo? With all the contradictions and complications in the current promo surely using the weekend promo and having unlimited listings with a maximum of $1.10 fees and being able to bulk relist is a much better deal. Why do them one by one now when you only have to wait two days to do them in bulk?

Re: Free listing promotion is not free

If you have items to sell for under $10 why use the weekend promo and get charged a higher percentage when they can't get their act together and just have a promotion which is glitch free!

Re: Free listing promotion is not free

The terms and conditions on mine say "pay up to a maximum of $1" (plus GST of 10c). I've never been charged the full $1.10 of items priced under $10.

Have you checked whether you're getting this weekend's promo and have you read the T&C's?

Re: Free listing promotion is not free

I'm not sure that everyone is eligible for weekend promos.  I've never received any notifications for it, or do you have to search for it? I've also not been eligible for any auto relists for about 2 years when I opened a store and I'm certainly not a big time seller.  It was only 3 back then but from reading the numerous posts it was increased to 8.  I know all that's got nothing to do with weekend promos but just saying that everyone isn't always eligible for the various promotions and freebies that are handed out so I personally get them when I can. I think if people want stuff for free it won't hurt them to do a little bit of work for it.  Most people don't really value things if they don't have to earn them.

I agree.     Sellers seem to have forgotten that the original free listings was for people who only sell a bit at a time, they get 40 listings for free.

If sellers have over 1000 items to sell they are obviously not in this category so i don't see why they can't bite the bullet like the rest of us and pay for a store.

There seems to be a whole new false perception that everything should be free.    (Not only on ebay! Smiley LOL)

Maybe this is why the new GTC rules are now enforced.
