Grrrrr to Aus Post posties

I was just sitting here, funnily enough reading this forum, when I could hear a motorbike outside. I thought awesome, mail man is here.

I wait, for a knock or for him to take off, but he is taking too long so I peer out the window.....and what do I find?

Postman writing out a card for me to pick up item from post office!

What the? He didn't even attempt to come to my front door to see if I was home to sign for it!

Well didn't he just cop of mouthful from me!

Re: Grrrrr to Aus Post posties

Hi everyone,

It is certainly disappointing to hear that you are all experiencing similar issues with our delivery services.

As long as there is clear access at your address you should be getting a delivery attempt. I would encourage anyone who is experiencing problems to contact us directly via our website here http://auspo.st/14cUzBC so we can collect all the information and follow up with your local Delivery Centres.

Roxy, you are one very brave AP worker posting to these boards at this time when significant AP changes, coupled with unacceptable level of misinformation circulated by AP entities including PO and AP facebook, has generated much ado about a heck of a lot  😐

Ha ha! Wardy, I am so with you on this one. It's happened to me too many times to count, and every time I complain to my local PO, I'm referred to their call centre, who take the complaints.

The very same call centre where my daughter works, and who has advised me that it's their biggest issue.

I can only imagine how many PP disputes there are due to in-efficient parcel deliveries.

Good thing AP is buying PP.

Re: Grrrrr to Aus Post posties

I mark all parcels with a big sticker "PLEASE CARD ITEM IF NO ONE HOME"

Unfortunately I keep hearing from customers that some posties ignore this and either do a dump and run or fail to leave a card.

This in turn takes up considerable time dealing with the customer and Australia Post customer service.

Pity we can't chase up with the delivering post office as they all have silent numbers.

I also get the feeling customer service don't often check with the delivering post office as they appear to have the false belief that Australia Post staff always follow the organizations rules.

Fact is like any business they don't

In relation to checking if someone is home Australia Post told me that when on motor bikes the postie can't leave his bike unless it is still visible so they often need to leave a card even though the person is home

Re: Grrrrr to Aus Post posties

ASK AT YOUR LOCAL POST OFFICE FROM WHAT DELIVERY CENTER YOU MAIL IS DELIVERED THEN WRITE A LETTER TO THE "DELIVERY MANAGER" OF THE FACILITY DETAILING YOUR PROBLEM ASK THAT IT BE DISSCUSSED WITH THE DELIVERY OFFICER

POSTIES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE SIGHT OF THERE DELIVERY VECHILE THIS IS A SECURITY MEASURE TO SAFEGUARD THE HUNDREDS OF MAIL ARTICLES THAT COULD BE EASILY BE STOLEN IF THE BIKE WERE LEFT UNATTENDED

ANOTHER TIP DISSCUSS YOUR CONCERNS IN THE SAME TONE YOU WOULD EXPECT TO BE SPOKEN TO IN

IF YOU PRESENT AS BEING A RESONABLE POLITE PERSON  MOST PEOPLE REPLY IN KIND IF YOU BLOW UP AND GIVE THE POSTIE A SERVE HE WILL REMEMBER AND WHEN YOU NEED THAT LOCAL KNOWLEDGE HE HAS WE HAVE HUNDREDS OF INCOMPLETE ADDRESSES EVERY DAY . HE JUST MIGHT FORGET WHO YOU ARE

THE MAJORITY OF POSTIES WILL GO OUT OF THERE WAY TO SERVE YOU AND SOME ARE NOT VERY GOOD AT IT ,

SOME PEOPLE HAVE HIGH EXPECTATIONS THAT NO AMOUNT OF SERVICE WILL SATISFY

Maybe you're not used to replying to internet forums/social media, but USING CAPS is most certainly considered as yelling................
