Geez, it's not even a full moon either! Seems the crazies don't even wait for full moons these days. Definitely one for the BBL!

I just recieved a classic message earlier this evening. It wasnt attached to any listing and read as follows, caps included. ( without the * though )
" I WANTED THAT F***KING BOOK."

Lyndal not really one for the party list, as only has purchase feedback history of 13, has never left a neg or nut for any seller, as a matter of fact has never left any feedback for any seller at all.

Which suggests one of two things (assuming this is not the first time they have sent a similar message, anyway)... Their approach never works, or they don't follow through on their promises.
I'd gamble a few bucks on the latter, just based on the fact that every buyer I've ever had who rabbitted on about the positive feedback I'd get if I did this, that or the other, never left anything at all. (I'm not the type to jump through hoops, in fact I'm often inclined to do the opposite of what the buyer is suggesting when they're rude in their approach, just because I have a contrarian streak , but some of the stuff they asked for was already done / par for the course).
I wouldn't block someone for attempting to haggle on a best offer item, but to be honest I would block them if they approached things like that, as I'd actually find it insulting (JMHO).
@chameleon, that is a huge flaw with eBay's message system - the buyer would have sent the message from the ended item, but because it's an ended listing, there won;t be any reference to the item at all. No idea why they have it that way - when I ran auctions, I would often get messages asking me if I'll relist "this item", but always had to ask them what item they meant. >_> (I'd block that buyer, too - but my tolerance level for that sort of thing is kinda maxed out at the moment).
