Hi I posted an item with tracking, no signature, and it has not been received. The tracking info shows that the item is in transit and has been so for four weeks.

I have filed a lost property with APO. I have been emailing the buyer telling what I have been doing.

My question is if it cannot be found in the system do I have to refund? ($15)

Cannot see on Paypal site if I will be compensated.

I would appreciate advice from experienced sellers. Thank you.

I cannot find anything on the paypal site where I can lodge my issue as a seller.

As a buyer there is the opportunity, but not as a seller

I had a similar problem picking up a item, Australia post placed a Red card in my letter box to collect a Parcel that should been carried by their parcel couriers. So I went to the Post office to collect it. No signs of it . Aust post tracking said it was in transit for 8 days, So I phoned Aust post, And they rang the post office who actually had the damm parcel with them whole time. What had happened is the Bar-code got damaged in transit So they could not Scan it as being now sitting at the post office selected awaiting collection. If that helps your welcome

Well I had a similar situation with case that finished today, against me. Sent an item to Germany via Seamail and provided the customs number to the buyer.

Ebay in their fantastic all knowing and ultimately **bleep** service advise that he can lodge a claim just over a month after it being posted. The only problem is Australia Post advise a 2-3 month shipping standard to Germany. So fair for the seller, not!

Anyway, I contacted ebay several times and they didn't understand that I was ther seller and told to contact paypal. Who surprisingly told me to contact ebay. I provided all the details to the buyer including a photo of the receipt and link to the Austrlia Post page ebay found in his favour. Not only has he gotten his money backbut the items when they arrive.

What a load of **bleep**. Sellers have no rights and are guilty until proven guilty. Can't even leave negative feedback when it really should be option when encountering a bad bayer...

Simple. Never use seamail as it will normally take longer than the Paypal window.

You might find the buyer repays when they receive the goods, but they certainly did the right thing in protecting themself.

An expensive lesson, probably, but always send by air in future. If the buyer doesn't want to pay for air, then they don't really want it.

This series of events happened to me several times until I found the cure.

Australia Post assumes that it is ok to safe drop items.

A safe drop can include, leaving in a frame by a letterbox, leaving on a front door mat, leaving on top of a letterbox.

putting it on a front werandah, and several other combinations

When an item is safe dropped the postie or contractor does not scan the item to protect themselves. I have a couple of items that were safe dropped in May 2013 that are still showing as in transit.

One was claimed by a customer to not have arrived,

The other was marked as delivered by the customer/

The first one was succesfully defended by me as I had the receipt showing postcode details and asigned declaration from thepostoffice staff about address etc.

It took two goes to get it right. So be persistant.

At the same timeI had a parcel "safe dropped' despite being aregistered post item requiring signature and the Australia Post employee who it was sent to now has the goods , my money and free postage.

I lost a three hundred dollar item, postage costs and selling priviledges.

The only way to guard against all these results is to add a

DO NOT SAFE DROP STICKER TO EVERY PARCEL.

And lodge over the counter at the post office or get the collecting driver to sign for or activate codes.

Last week I received a card for a letter to be collected. I heard the posties motorbike. and he did not get off the bike. He just left the card in the box. Fortuneately the collection point was open Saturday to enable me to correct the laziness of the aus post staff.

And Aus post staff are not knocking very loudly on doors nowadays. Seems they do not want to scan items to avoid implications from items stolen after being "safe" delivered.

AP are discontinuing those stickers, and I believe staff have been instructed to destroy any remaining stock after a particular date (can't remember the date, I'm afraid).

Well it looks like a class action is required

They do not track trackable items from China anymore

To make us take the chance of losing every parcel we post is time to take action

shall we call it fraud or attempting to make money by deception ?????

Looks like I picked a good time to get kicked off Ebay with over the top fees, fraudulent fees on postage, ridiculous feedback requirements.

And now I can not protect myself with a do not safe drop sticker.

all to turn over $15.00 and make $ 1.00 profit if you are lucky.

I am going fishing.

Thanks for the heads up .

Just got back from the post office.

The owner of the shop was unaware of any change to the system.

And I now have a brand new box of 200 in my hot little hands.

they may discontinue them but I have a good supply now so will use them with my 45 cent stamps if things go bad.

Stamps do not have a use by date so the stickers should not either.
