We just received an angry message from a buyer saying that she never received her items that were mailed out on Friday 31st October.
That's nearly 2-months ago. 54-days to be exact.
How long can it take to realise you never received something you bought?
The items have been mailed by large letter so no tracking of course.
Under these new ebay rules does the 180-day MBG extend to INR as well as SNAD?
Solved! Go to Solution.

Neither the 180 day dispute window nor eBay's MBG will apply here.
If the item was mailed 31st October, then the purchase was made before eBay's MBG (introduced November 1st, and allows 30 days on top of the last ETA), as well as before PayPal's 180 day extension (applicable to purchases made on and after November 18).
As to how long... On another site's forum last night, there was a thread by a seller who had just received a message from a buyer saying that they didn't think they'd received their purchase......from 2011.

Thanks DG...
Yeah we tagged is as mailed on Friday 31st October (shows that date on the transaction record). So yes just one day before the MBG rules started up. Forgot about the start date for that.
And it's outside the PayPal 45-day INR rule by 9-days. And only 6-days until her ability to give any FB ends.
I want to replace the lost items for her, but I'm a bit annoyed that someone can take this long to realise they did not receive their item.
Anyway I sent her back a message with all the usual questions in it, and stating that we would be happy to replace the items if they really prove to be lost. They might just mysteriously show up yet IYKWIM !
If it took this long to reaslise they had not arrived we may never get an answer to the questions.

Yup... It was the "I don't think I received it" bit that killed me. Christmas....was never as strange until I started selling online and reading these stories on the forums.

Wow! 3-years ++.
How can you miss something you bought for that looong. Must Take a very "special " kind of person.
There must be some statute of limitations that would apply in cases like that.

We sent her a message a week ago asking her to please validate her address.
But of course no response at all yet.
Might take another two months.

As long as they want .... lol ... sellers at the mercy of ebay feedback policy... I had one buyer give me negative feedback cause they reckon they never recieved item... but they never notified me that they did not recieved item even though Aust post stated different. It was also a pitty as I would have sent the a second one.
Ebay doesnt care bout sellers so be carefull we are at the mercy of buyers.

It's now almost 2-weeks since I sent the request to validate the correct address before we send out a replacement item.
At this point she cannot leave any feedback as it has now gone beyond 60-days since the origianl transaction.
And since the original transaction took place on 3st Oct it is also before (1-day only) these new confounded ebay MBG rules came into place.
So it is really up to our discretion now as to if/not we send out a replacement item.
Kind of inclined to tho as we are only talking under $10 cost to us to do so. And I have no real reason to believe she is a scammer.
We just don't want to mail out another item if the original address was wrong for some reason.
We had this happen way back when we first started. Got a reported INR. We just mailed out a replacement. Then got another report of INR. It was then that it dawned on us the address may have been wrong (doh!) and then the buyer confirmed it was wrong. After that we left it up to them to recover both from their old address. Never ever heard any more about it. Lesson learned.
