Ebay is a big buisness and i hope a big contributor to the worlds big issues.
I would like to see ebay foster support for and encourage recycling, reusing, reasigning etc, buy reducing the listing and FVF for used or second hand items.
Would this not be a good thing for Ebay ethically, not to mention the good will fostered towards many owners of all things used.
I would feel much better about Ebay as a large business, because i know they love to cut deals with big 'mega' sellers that opperate out of China and other mass manufacturers of new bits and peices that we all love to buy cheap and so If ebay evened the playing feild, just a little, to offset the new markets, i think alot of people would appreciate their more resposible corporate outlook.

Are you serious? Ebay is a business and as such is there to make a profit for its shareholders, that is its only purpose so why on earth would it want to reduce profits to encourage anything of an 'ethical' nature?
Sellers can have unlimited free listings if they use multiple ids or they can list very cheaply with a basic level store so why should ebay lower listing fees?
The offset for having free listings is that they increased the final value fee, it is still just under 10% for most categories which is hardly high cost for something somebody no longer wants.
As a seller of both new and second hand goods I don't see why I should pay less for selling the second hand items which have a zero purchase price so are pure profit after fees when I have to take the cost of purchasing a new item into account plus the fees before i see any profit.

Are you a shareholder by chance?

Wish I was a shareholder lol.
I would most certainly only be interested in profit margins if I were.
