How am I going to get a reputation as a seller if buyers won't leave feedback?

After selling my first item ever on ebay I didn't get feedback from the buyer. I emailed them to request  feedback but still no response. How am I going to build up a reputation as a seller if buyers won't leave feedback?

I find maybe a third to half of all my buyers leave feedback, and some take a while to do so. It would be useful if all buyers did, as I want to know if they're happy, if the item was received ok, etc, but I've never asked for feedback! That seems embarrassing and desperate!

Just for buying though but OP wants to establish their seller reputation which at this stage still have none and that maybe because OP isn't selling anything.

It's a bit hard, like a circle of caution. No feedback = no sales and no sales = no feedback.

No listings = no sales or feedback. That at least is in the OP's control.

Just an observation, I started a new selling account a couple of years ago from scratch. It took around 30 feedback scores as a seller before any buyer resistance disappeared. After around 30 feedbacks I had international buyers and was able to sell high priced items freely. Before that buyers where a bit more cautious. So in my case, around thirty, 100% pos. feedbacks was the magic number. After that it didnt make any difference.

Mmm! Interesting how 30 worked well but after that, no difference. So you could have 50,000 or 30. I think once you get to that 30, the big thing is keeping it 100% positive.
