At what age do you consider "kids" should be granted access to items such as you have mentioned?

Surely they would have been exposed to the before they turn 18....which is the age they need to be to use ebay.

If parents let under age children access their ebay accounts then surely that is not ebay's fault.

eBay listings can be accessed without being a member.   You do not need to register to view.

To list Adult 18+ products in Australia it is a requirement that a web gateway is in place to restrict view to those not declaring they are under 18 as well as a general warning for all users about the type of images that the viewer may see.

Whilst it may be beyond the comprehension of some, it is nonetheless how it is in Oz.

i say just this...WHAT THE!, kids shouldnt be looking at a plastic imitation of a part of a womans anatomy deisgned for a man to get his sexual pleasure when lookking for spare parts from a seller of model radio control car parts...EVER!!!

so you dont mind if your underage children see these things, good for you.

wheres the world heading?

in answer to your question, i dont consider 'kids' should be granted access to items like this. when they are 18 or over then fine.

are you really using the 'oh they most likely have seen these things before so stop worrying' excuse? omg

No, I would be quite happy for my children to see these things.....they are 42 and 46.  I would not mind if my teenage grandchildren saw them either.  As farm kids they know all about animals and their sexual pleasures....not to mention the "biology"  that they are exposed to in the school system these days.

And lets not forget that the moment a child draws its first breath, it must have a mobile phone with full internet access, or it's life will be over and it will have lifelong mental health issues. Plenty of pre teen kids are accessing very violent and very graphic pornography sites these days, because parents love the electronic babysitter, so seeing a few adult toys, they are not going to bat an eyelid.

There was no reference to your middle aged children in your post.

Indeed you quoted under age children.

I am not surprised by the other posters reaction to your post.

If parents are unable to meet their responsibilites, it does not give mean that the society including the govt should look the other way from its duty of care to children.

Or are you advocating otherwise.

Your post seems to support that it is acceptable that preteens are accessing very violent and very graphic pornography sites.

I don't agree with kids of any age having their own phone, period. I also detest parents who sit on facebook all day and let their kids do whatever they like on their devices, so long as don't annoy them. So, you're assumption was completely wrong (as usual).

LOL

My post was not referring to my children in particular.

It was a general reply to posters advocating that ebay needs to be held responsible for underage kids accessing the site.

Are you suggesting that children don't have any access to items such as those in the listings in question on any other site than ebay?

If you are then you are living in hob-goblin land.

Not at all.  I am not advocating that at all.

That is very clear, unfortunatley your posts are not clear, and appear to have upset other posters by appearing to advocate that it is acceptable for underage children to view 18+ adult only goods - which is against the law in relation to retail in Australia.
