Hi
How do we compete with a seller who sells at a loss, I purchased a pair of earrings to see how they package/post them, cost $1.99 aud, when the earrings arrived, the postage was $2.20 aud add ebay fees onto that your looking at maybe $2.50 aud so they losing $0.50 per sale, there is no way I can compete, and they have over 10,000 listings on ebay with 195k items sold, i checked their feedback history and most people buying the $1.99 earrings and not the more expensive to even out the so called sales. Ebay stated that they have other accounts with more expensive items to even out the sales......again how is this fair to the rest of us??
They litterly have a monopoly so why should I sell on ebay and is this happening with other items??
How can we compete with this????

As has been said - you can't control what other people sell for. You can't compete with cheap Chinese junk. You are not selling cheap Chinese junk (allegedly) so what is your problem?
Give it a rest. You've hammered on about this for days, given flawed 'evidence' which has nothing to do with what YOU sell, other members can't do anything about your perceived problem, eBay won't!

one minute it is "who is gonna buy such cheap **bleep**", and the next "people are buying multiples of the cheap **bleep**"

Before you all start calling me delusional, I came onto this board under the assumption that it offered help in relation to ebay, and with the exception of one person, every comment has been degrading, neglectful, and slight. None have actually addressed my issue without calling me stupid or being told to move on, and now it is devolving into critising what I sell, if you dont like what I have to say then dont answer!!!
This is the welcome to the ebay community, I think it needs to be changed

You have been given plenty of good advice from experienced members here - but because most of those answers were ones you didn't want to hear, you dismissed them out of hand.

How can we compete.
==================
Follow there trading model. High volume low profit.
Start building your inventory.
Offer discounts and promotions
Propogate contacts in China
Purchase bulk , 10 - 20c per unit.
It all takes time, plenty of hard work/long hours and significant investment. It does not just happen.
You posted a link to a glenn stevens article. why didn't you post a link to his sale price for bulk stamps..
You have assumed the seller in question is selling at a loss, but all the evidence indicates otherwise.
No, I am not paid by ebay or anyone else.

Just to add, the response you have marked as a solution, is way off the mark. (sorry twyn) There is no indication of drop shipping and the seller is registered in Australia, so the Chinese Government and the developing countries international post cost arrangements are irrelevant,
so have no effect on the playing field, level or not.
