Hello everyone.
How is the best way to get someone to leave me feedback. I am an honest ebayer and have been ebaying for over 19 years. My last item that I listed, I have been informed by ebay, that they will not release the hold of my payment until, the buyer has received my item and also left positive feedback. I have asked the buyer on numerous occassions from the day that I posted it, including even again today, to get him to leave feedback, and he wont. I have asked ebay, to intervene and request him to leave feedback, and they wont. So, not only now, I am out of pocket for the item, but also for the postage, insurance, and packaging. This is immensely unfair. I have spent over 2 hours with ebay trying to resolve with no help. I will never sell using ebay again. There no longer is seller protection.

Eh, from my point of view it's irrelevant whether the transcripts exist or not - either they got a weird idea in their head despite never needing FB to get funds released before, or that's what they were told when their funds weren't released as normal this time; it doesn't change much (if anything) about the problem that needs solving. Nor does the slightly premature and hyperbolic rhetoric re: ebay stealing the funds.
And from where I'm sitting, they kept insisting on being told that because a bunch of replies were pretty much just "nah", and then "prove it". Like you can't heavily imply doubt on what someone is saying, and when they respond the same way most people would, by reiterating it, use that as some kind of evidence that it's not true and now they have to prove it.

Just have to agree to disagree, on this one digi. 😊
The issue at hand has less credibility when the story is based on untruths.
And now she maintains she is not computer savvy. Cant load a pic here. How laughable! If she can upload a pic to sell her items, then she can bleeding well load a pic here. Press the camera icon and follow the instructions. Kindergarten level really! Feeding us more untruths! No damn surprise there!
Anyway, you’re the flavour of the month, so, we’ll leave it in your very capable hands!

This whole thing reminds me of the recent another recent saga on these boards regarding a certain dress, where the OP refused to supply us with the item number so we could look at whether her claims were true or not. All it did was lower her credibility.
In fact, I was literally looking at the Seller guidelines this morning and this is what they say about funds on hold. Nowhere in any of the text does it say anything about receiving positive feedback in order to get funds released.

Sweetie, you forgot to ask for an item number, so asking on your behalf. OP, do you have an item number?

As somebody has said previously, don't push too hard on getting feedback because you will get the wrong kind of feedback, a negative! I was just checking out a seller when I came across this:

You're right, the policies do say that and not what the Op has experienced, but my point is that surely we have all been on eBay long enough - the forums in particular - to know that eBay don't always follow their own policies, and eBay CS will say whatever sounds most plausible to match what is happening rather than provide real solutions (aka "lip service" as opposed to "customer service").
It frustrates me, so I'm going to hammer on it a bit, - NB: this is just me venting about a general frustration I have, so not directing this at you in particular - because often it results in people being gaslit about their own experiences either on or with ebay - this prevailing "I experienced A" responded to with "well I never have, and the policies say otherwise, so X to doubt", thing.
I literally outlined a similar scenario in my first response, albeit not in great detail because I was focusing on helping the OP deal with CS - when I requested the feedback removal, for example, I was initially denied, and when I questioned why, was told a whole bunch of things about why it didn't qualify for removal...and yet I got it removed, because I persisted, referred back to the policies and continually pointed out how and why they applied in my specific circumstances. If I was a less experienced ebayer, and came here to say something about it, like "eBay won't remove my neg even though it qualifies - they told me it was because of X", I can almost see how it would go down here, TBH - "there must be some reason it doesn't qualify, you're not telling us the whole story, because otherwise it would have been removed". Sometimes it plays out the other way, too often it doesn't, it puts members on the defensive and then that defensiveness is used as further evidence of being disingenuous.
I have the transcripts, happy to share, lol, doesn't seem like it's explicitly prohibited in the forum rules anymore, either. 🤔 (It definitely used to be ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ).
Anyway, I tend to take a break from the forum when I find myself being (or feeling) more critical than helpful - didn't last very long this time, so I'll try to stick around a bit longer 🤣 (I won't just drop this here and skedaddle, anyway - happy to engage with anyone who has a counterpoint or two).

As usual DG has provided a helpful, intelligent and insightful response that may be of use to many others reading the thread even if the OP chooses not to follow the advice.
Compare that some of the other responses that are just plain obnoxious and rude. Its unfortunate that some here are so quick to denigrate and belittle others rather than discussing issues in a mature, reasoned way.
It says a lot more about the character and IQ of the people responding than it does about the OP.

And this is on topic of the OP - how. ??
Or did you just do that which you are accusing others of doing. ??

Lol… don’t worry about him. He’s just standing on his pedestal fluffing out his feathers. (As usual) 😉
