Hi there.
Just wondering if there is a way to trace a purchase made (not by me) about 3 years ago?
My husband's grandfather's (lost) war medals and Record of Service Book and associated photos were apparently sold on FB about 3 years ago. Wondering if there is a way to find out who bought them? Would love to be able to reunite these parts of history to my husband's family.
Thanks.

I believe your husband asked this question just recently.....I know I answered the same question the other day.
You can try a google search....the listing may pop up.....but it is too long ago to be available on ebay.
You can access the complete Service Record through the National Archives site.

There are one or two websites that can trace eBay items as far back as 10 or more years ago. One of them is called worthpoint.com. I've used it before and it brings up quite a lot of results.
There is also one more (which appears to be non-eBay but does specialise in military items) called icollector.com.
As previous posters have said though, type in as much detail about the items into Google and you may find some information there. One or all of the items could have even been sold after the initial eBay auction a few years ago

OP has stated that items were sold on FaceBook not ebay so there won't be any sold records on ebay.

If you've maintained the same email address, try searching your emails. You may find the original listing, as well as the emails eBay sent when it sold and was paid for will be in your email data files. For example, Outlook pst files are fairly good at storing all emails in Sent, Deleted and Archived folders if you don't delete them fully. You can also import emails from old pst files if you still have backups of old computers you used or the old computers themselves.

All well and good.......mmmmm........not really
Did you miss the bit where the OP was trying to track down the sale because they were lost and sold (not by them) on ebay?
Shoulda gone to specsavers - or at least don't skim next time.
