so i bought an item for 250 dollars and now cannot pick it up - can i relist, even though it is still at original sellers house, and sell it to someone who can pick it up?
i won't mind selling it for not very much but the time factor is crucial as they say they will only hold it until next sunday...
thanks

Have you asked the seller if they're happy for you to relist the cubby house, and have your prospective buyers going around to their house for inspection?
I see a lot of probems with this idea, not the least that you'll have to start a selling account - I presume you don't have another ID for selling..
Your best option is either get it picked up, or ask the seller for a mutual cancellation, (which I doubt they'd be happy with at this stage.).
I have to wonder why you're trying this avenue when you committed to buy the item on 5th March.

I also can see all sorts of complications with this idea, and I think unless you've paid for it, you would be better off reaching a solution with your seller. In fact, even if you have paid for it, it would be better to request a cancellation and refund (allowing for an amount to be deducted for any costs the seller has incurred).
If I were the seller, I would not be willing to essentially act as the agent for the person who couldn't follow through on my sale and help them get theirs, if you know what I mean - even if you paid for it, that'd be extra work for me, and it would be much simpler and easier to let them go on to sell it themselves....again. ๐

thanks for feedback - staying at friends who originally said it was okay and then other member said it wasnt okay to bring it here.
kind of stuck - hard to move it as it's big and hard to say refund and relist because I think they will resist as husband had to dismantle it I(its a cubby house) wanted to convert to cat enclosure.
I tried saying to seller fine keep it and if you can help me out with a few hours to put some ideas together for a simple cat enclosure as a trade - they are quite hostile to that idea as though i am trying to be unfair - i dont know - it's hard because i don't want to disadvantage them but am suffering a disadvantage because of the way friends kind of bucked the idea after one of them had said go ahead.
a bit of a powerless feeling here now regarding that.
thanks for feedback

hi regarding the agency idea yes but i am not asking them to do anything - i could reloist if as an urgent sale - can you do that on ebay? or other local thing like gumtree and just be there if it sold for new buyer to pick it up - that way the original seller gets to keep their 250 and i get it moved and some kind of compensation - all theoretical as they are asking for it to be moved by sunday 3pm - i only bought it on Thursday last week...
not sure what to do.
cheers

hi i bought it uninspected - paid over paypal just hours after bidding ended - yes there may not be wisdom in that - i am learning.
they think that it's value has decreased because it is now dismantled. well i don't agree necessarily - they still have a good photo and i did see it after i purchased - as i went round to help dismantle the first parts of the process.
still stuck.
i feel kind of responsible but not in control of the decision that brought about that responsibility 'failure'. like i am deliquent or something... when in fact i was kind of led in one direction by person who needed to consult other person as to their opinion regarding getting cubby house here and that it would be okay to do so - given that i am staying at their place and not living in an autonomous way here....

Do you have anyone else that can store it for you until you can use it, or resell it?

Sorry to hear your dilemna BUT I fail to see how any of this is the sellers (or should i say ex-owners) problem. If i were them I would simply put it on the footpath at 301pm on sunday. If it then disappears from there, all care no responsibilty. You have two options here. Pick the item up or not. Seller has no obligation what so ever, to store the item for you after the day/time they have given you to pick up. Harsh i know but the item is no longer theirs.

Do you have a garage you can store it in. If I was the seller I certainly would not want strangers coming into my yard area, especially if I had children. Another thing if anyone is hurt on the previous sellers property then there is a question of insurance.
Far too many problems.

it's not often we agree...
