I have just sold a Jacket to a buyer in Chile and they have a zero feedback. I was a little sceptical, so I checked other sellers and they have 'Will not pot to Chile'. Silly question - but is there an issue/scam with buyers in Chile? Thanks

Not all zero feedback buyers are scammers. We all had to start at the bottom with 0 feedback. If they haven't paid in 4 days, open an unpaid dispute, then after 4 days, close it to get your FVF's back. That will record a strike against their name.
I don't post to anywhere in Africa, South America, most Asian countries and the Middle East.

Thanks and I do accept what you are saying. However, quite a few seller have it noted in red that they will not post to Chile. Is there a reason why you want post to those locations?

I don't know about Chile specifically but I do know that some South American countries have extortionate import duties and large black holes so the chances of a trouble free transaction are less than normal to say the least. Just make sure that you either send it with belt and braces proof of delivery or accept that you may have to refund rather than spending hours on the phone to Paypal trying to avoid doing so.

mmm, well I think it is best if I don't receive any payment and can just re-list with some country exclusions. Thanks for the word of advise

I dont post to Chile or any South American countries. Too many items do not arrive from my past experiences. Its never been an issue of being scammed, just the unreliability of their postal services.

Same experience here. I have sold to Chile in the past ( and still do, as I dont block any countries ) but you do "lose" many more items than avarage to Chile. Another problem is that Australia post do not have a tracking service or offer insurance for items posted to Chile ( this says what AP think of Chile ) so you are on your own when a customer puts in a claim.

PJ ........As per last post AP do not offer tracking or insurance of any kind to Chile so there is no belts & braces proof of delivery available unfortunately. If you post to Chile you are completely on your own. As per your your last sentance I post there accepting I will have to just "Pay up" if things go wrong. As I sell quite a bit to some of those odd ball countries it still pays me to send there and wear the loss occasionally.
