If this item / seller is a scam..
151503479687
( sold nothing in a year, used to sell window tints, website doesn't exist, etc etc)
and I bought this, and it never transpired, then of course I would get my money back through paypal / ebay's guarantee?
What would be in it for him?
It may be legit but I see lots of red flags..
Is it a safe bet and if not, what's the worst could happen to the buyers?
And wow, never seen such a long id history!

Is the 'buying' board on strike?

I dont plan on risking it actually, but if I were to do so, hypothetically, I am interested to know whether I am covered, and like I said, what the seller could get out of it, why they would bother? How they could make such a scam work, were it a scam..if paypal just hold the money..

If you see lots of Red Flags, why are you tempted. If it were me, I wouldn't touch it.

Im asking sellers because I think they understand more about how selling works than buyers do.

But that's exactly what I mean... Isn't it perfectly safe if ebay promises the money back guarantee etc? Is there really any risk apart from wasting time?

It may or not be a scam. Who knows ??? Who know what prompts some scammers ? I wouldn't waste my time and effort on proving a point. If you feel like it, then go ahead and buy it, just to see what happens.

Money paid for the individual transaction may be safe, so to speak, but that doesn't necessariy mean it's a waste of time for scammers to collect various personal info details about buyers who fall for scams. 😉
They have - along with a certain measure of trust and/or gullibility - access to phone numbers, names, addresses, email addresses, and a whole bunch of ways to get unrecoverable money from people.
Edit: Speaking in general - I didn't look at the listing in the OP.
