I know I've sold a lot of books but I've never had a case raised against me.
Buyer says didn't receive book & has asked AP to invesigate as tracking is shown as delivered. They said they will speak to driver.
She has now lodged "Item Not Received" case with Ebay & they have suggested refund or upload tracking number.
I have supplied tracking number & explained what has happened so far (AP have not got back to her as yet) but she says she knows they won't do anything.
Can someone with more knowledge than me on this, please step me through what happens now.
The case says "awaiting buyers action." Do Ebay check tracking or just refund buyer from my Paypal?
Any knowledge of next steps would be appreciated.

You are 100% correct.
I just spoke with my son who works in the call centre in Brisbane. Here is what has to happen now.
The seller (sender) needs to call into them at AP and open up a new case.
Doing this will close the already opened case by the buyer.
The seller also needs to request a "Waiver Form" to be sent out. They will do this via email.
Then you fill in the waiver form and email it back to AP.
If they pay any comp when there is no extra cover it is max $50 + whatever the postage cost was.
But this kind of payout is entirely discretionary and depends on the mood of the CSR at the time.
Remember you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.
My son says its very likely they will comp tho.
Once (and if) they agree to comp it will be then paid to the buyer and not the seller due to the waiver in place.
But it could take a couple of weeks to get thru the process.

Did you try to contact PayPal? I think your case should be covered by the seller protection policy.
"PayPal Seller Protection is a form of protection that we provide for sellers with a PayPal account. It's available for eligible payments made through eBay and outside of eBay which involve buyers purchasing through PayPal accounts in any country. If your buyer files a reversal, claim or chargeback against you due to unauthorised transactions or for items not received, PayPal will reimburse the full amount of your eligible transaction and waive the chargeback fee if applicable."

Thank you for that advice, but Ebay closed the case in my favour, as Aust Post tracking was showing as delivered..
Good to know if I ever have another case like this.
