We have a product we call a "headband kit". Normally it sells at a rate of about 1 per week or so.
There are a few different sizes and content combinations (and therefore prices) each of which has its own separate listing across our two ebay stores. It's very popular for baby showers and home crafters who want to make up their own baby headbands.
Yesterday (Friday) morning, by some strange chance, two of these kits sold in quick succession to two separate buyers.
Then for the rest of the day there was "kaching" throughout the day on these same items.
7 of them sold thru the day including one on E**Y by another odd coincidence.
We did a search test and found that our kits (all of them on both stores) were occupying the first five positions of search ranking. We had never seen this happen before as they normally languish down a page or two below the Chinese sellers.
This morning they are still up there so we are hoping the sales trend continues over the weekend, although weekends are normally very slow for us anyway.
So it seems that search ranking is everything, in our particular category anyway.

I didn't mind, clarry. I thought it was interesting & your actual item wasn't the main thrust of the post, it was more centred on the number of sales etc, so not advertising IMO.

It was never my intention to advertise our products on here as I am aware that is against policy.
I was just using this particular product to illustrate a point in the OP.
Thats ok clarry.
I am fairly confident that I may indeed refer to this thread again to highlight a range of others posters views when newbie posters seeking advice get accused of using the boards to advertise when they include far less product information than is detailed in your OP.
Hope the sales trend on your product continues to increase

That would be the ones who don't actually ask questions or provide some meaningful insight?

Yes search ranking of any product really boosts sales, years ago we had a product with a very high search ranking, and was in Ebays best selling ranking in its catergory, back in the day when Ebay had that feature, so we sold hundreds of them back in the day before chinese sellers dominated australian Ebay, they were there but Aussie sellers used to rank above them, but now is the other way around, go figure .
