eBay you greatly need to improve your search on here! You have items listed for sale in category's they should NOT be listed in such as garden solar powered lights listed in the same place as solar powered security camera's. The categorizing of items on here is frustrating and completely unmoderated! I typed in the search box solar powered security camera and got taken to a page full of DUMMY or FAKE solar powered security camera's! IF I wanted FAKE security camera's I would have typed in FAKE or DUMMY security camera's.
I then typed in Security Camera in the search box that took me to this page:
On this page half way down it states in big black writing:
More items related to "security camera"
Under this heading is a item listed as a
800 L/H Anti-Corrosive Submersible Aqua Aquarium Fountain Pond Marine Water Pump
Since when is a Aqua Aquarium Fountain Pond Marine Pond Water Pump even related to a SECURITY CAMERA I would like to know?
I have found similar listings like this all over your site that are not categorised properly due to poor administration or moderation by eBay staff!
Please will you do some thing about the search on this site in order to improve it greatly so that potential buyers can find what they are looking for with out the hassle or frusteration of having to scroll through pages of items for sale that have been miscategorized and not categorized properly!
Thanks.

@cathyjoyjoy wrote:I just had an interesting conversation in ebay "Chat" regarding 'tupperware' and I was told that although it can be misleading, sellers can list in the category they choose ........ so that's why you will see all sorts of stuff pop up in a search for tupperware. I must keep this in mind when I am buying items in other categories. It was also confirmed that word search is all about the category first, then the words in the title second ........ interesting.
Hahaha, sorry to spoil the fun, firstly, I thought you got in all sorts of trouble for listing in the 'wrong' category !!! I even thought they removed such listings (when they're in the mood to that is )
But wow, really good to know, if of course it's at all true that word search is the category first THEN the words in the title second - what tha ?? That is actually mind boggling if there is any truth to it . . . . . .

Just idly wondering what category they put 'spice'.
Kitchen? Music?
I would prefer the actual words I type in to be what they pull up from the listings.
otherwise I would search.. a category.

I actually asked if listing in an unrelated or even false category was against ebay rules ....... and didn't really get an answser. All I was told was that "it is misleading to buyers" ......... !!!!! I was then told it was "all about Best Match" and your listing gets moved up depending on how many views, watchers, your FB rating, etc etc, blah blah blah (and I've discovered somewhere in Help & Contact, the extra $ you can pay to increase your visibility in best match
Yes, the others are correct in this thread; I was "speaking like they knew what they were talking about" ... LOL.
I guess "tupperware" has its own category, and if you search with that single word, you will find many items that don't even contain that word in their title ****many of whom are from China and HK****** ........ hmmmmmmmm?
I'm going to be aware of that in future for all searches on anything in the future.
I've also been trying to find out EXACTLY what Best Match means from the ebay info ........... ok, I can feel more moving emoticons on their way.

Haha, just got home from work - looks like the team has let you down, so here you go, even though mine are nowhere near as good as others, hehehe
Keep up the detective work From a selling perspective, it really makes me wonder now though just exactly what should be included in listing titles and if it's now ok to list in other categories, I'm going to give that a go - within reason of course !! I have always been very wary having had listings removed for Violating Policy by being in the wrong Category in the past.
The old goal posts seem to be moving again and yet another case of damned if you do - damned if you don't !!

I dunno about listing in other categories, mb
I tried that once and got slapped. It wasn't a stretch.
Perfectly acceptable - I thought - gathering a new customer base
I think someone got their nose out of joint and pressed a button

It is against eBay policy and it has it's own report category,(you only have to worry about reports if you are
not a Chinese seller).
