For the last couple of years, Ebay has always added VAT/customs charges to sales from the UK. But the last few sales I've had only have item and shipping costs (apart from one to Northern Ireland). These are items from low value to a couple of hundred dollars. So obviously, there had been no IOD ID applied to the sale.
Has there been a recent change with Ebay with regards to this? I can't find any documentation on the matter.

My last UK sale was 10 days ago, so if there has been a change since then I wouldn't know. However since 2021 I have always had occasional UK sales where no VAT was charged. I have always assumed that the buyer was already VAT registered. Plus if over GBP 135, VAT & duties are collected once the package arrives over there.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, that was my understanding as well, but recent correspondance with a customer advised they were not VAT registered, hence my confusion. I've also had a dreadful situation very recently where a UK customer (spending over GBP 135) was furious and blamed me for having to pay VAT & duties at their end. Even after explaining it has nothing to do with sellers, the negative feedback was awful to receive.

That would qualify for feedback removal

The feedback doesn't mention it but if you can get eBay to read the messages showing what the buyer said to you relating to the duties at their end, resulting in negative feedback, there's a good chance you can get the feedback removed
