Item not recieved case opened - whats a cheap alternative for tracking than ebay satchels?

Hi All,

Well, today I had an item not recieved case opened against my selling account, the item according to Australia Post should have been recieved yesterday.

I also had another seperate customer send an eBay message that they haven't recieved their item as well..

Both items were posted the same day in a PB1 padded bag to NSW addresses at the large letter rate so there is no tracking, but I do find it interesting that both buyers asked for the tracking numbers and as we know there is no tracking on the PB1 Padded bags.

Looks like I may have to discontinue posting my items in the PB1 Bags and up my postage prices to provide tracking but what is the best way to provide tracking and keep eBay happy in the future for an item not recieved case?

I use the Ebay 500g Satchels for about 80% of my items that i sell on eBay but the items posted in the PB1 Padded bags are low cost small items and I've only had one PB1 padded bag go missing in over 6 years.

Cheers

Hidiho

Australia Post are running VERY behind at the moment.

In the past two weeks I have had to open 2 missing item reports with them . Both items eventually turned up, however a parcel from Sydney CBD to Sydney CBD took 8 days (!!!) and another from Sydney CBD to Melbourne CBD took 16 days.

Luckily both buyers were very understanding, however I'm dreading all the parcels that won't turn up on time for Christmas...despite me posting on the same day payment is received at the moment 😞

Try and see if you can lodge a missing item report online anyway...I've been doing this and requesting the buyers wait for the response to the report from Australia Post (confirming that the item is lost) before issueing a refund. This so far has bought enough of a grace period for the item to turn up.

Some parcels are taking much longer to get to their destination. I hope AP can sort out their new sorting machine technology "issues" quick smart !!

I have had one not received that took an additional 5 days to reach destination than usual and copped a defect as I could not fight it out with eBay as I did not lodge over counter as I do 99% of the time - lesson learnt !!

I also sent two express post parcels (within network to other states) a couple of weeks ago and both took more than 2 days to leave Victoria - I applied for refund but what a pain.

Heart Thank you to my understanding buyers.

Hello Best Health,

Thank you for that information, one of my  missing parcels is going to Sydney CBD and this would explan why there is such a delay on this parcel...

An update on the other missing parcel, this was delivered the day after the the item not recieved case was opened and the buyer replied in the case that the parcel had been recieved, I have asked the buyer to close the case as there is no option at my end for closing the case.

Cheers
