Ebay has a specific category for Golliwogs under Dolls. There are over 30 listed. Mine was removed as it was reported and removed under the Hateful & Racist policy. Why would they have a specific category for an item if they are only going to remove it because obviously someone who has issues is offended.!!

ring ebay and ask them. If they have a specific category for them them there should be no reason for removal.

wow - same happeened to me with a book I had listed for a long time -message came in overnight. do you think someone reported it or its just come up in the key words.
so they have a category for dolls? this was a 50s book on how to make them.
I was thinking of using different words like golli doll ? any other suggestions?
its a 50s book so no racism intended its what they were called and what a collector would search for as you know pandora.

how absurd. i had a golliwog as a child and loved it. It's not racist, i wouldn't have cared what colour it was. It was just a toy i loved.
The people who disagree to the listing are obviously the real racists.

We have had 85 listings removed this morning.
Looks like the whole category is going.
On a more positive note, our Google ranking for Gollys is today NUMBER 1 !!

I thought the name was changed to Golly years ago
The racist part was the wog

Which is silly because apparently the actual meaning of wogs is Workers on Government Service dating back to the 19th century when the dolls were first made.

I just had my listing for my Sally Lots of Cuddles Golly doll removed too. There is a specific category for Golliwogs so I am shocked they can consider their own category offensive. Go report yourself Ebay!
