It would be funny if irresponsible people who despose of pets where banned from owning pets ever again. 190,000 dogs and cats where euthanized last year in Australia after being neglected by their owners. Very sad.

I didn't find it funny either.   Puppy's birth date is listed as

Boxing Day.   Poor pup shouldn't be leaving home yet

There's no pup mentioned in the ad so the birth date is just an arbitrary date. It says the dog is 5 years old.

If you read what's actually written, it sounds like the people haven't had the dog for long (possibly only since boxing day) and it just isn't working out, so they're trying to find it a more suitable home where it will get more attention. What's so wrong with that?

I read it as someone's idea of a joke. The dog selling off the family, as opposed to the family selling off the dog.
