Little Icons in the Item headings

Hi all, sometimes I see little icons placed in the headinds of an item, does anyone know how to do this?

Any help is appreciated.

Re: Little Icons in the Item headings

You can copy / paste things like ASCII icons, and others would simply be using mobiles with in-built icons that they can enter.

Just be aware that they are not searchable (which means they're not recommended in place of keywords), and that they don't always render on all devices (in which case people will see blank spaces, or little boxes instead).

Strictly speaking they are not allowed, although there are plenty around.

Search and browse manipulation policy

"For example, the use of superscript, subscript or other special characters (e.g. โ„ข, โ™ฅ, ยฝ) in the title, subtitle, item specifics or other fields is not allowed."

We didn't know about this one - we (like many stamp sellers) use the symbol ยฝ in some of our titles as the denomination of the stamp could be, for example, 1ยฝd.  Surely that shouldn't be a problem!

Don't know much about stamps other than I spend a lot of money on them.

So, perhaps you could use 1/2 instead of the symbol, although I must admit it looks inelegant compared to the symbol.  Plus what Digi said re not searchable and may not show up, makes there use questionable.

If it is the title of the item then it is allowed....just think of the language that can be used if it is the title of a book.

I think you might be confusing ASCII Punctuation and Symbols (@#$%&) that are allowed with special symbols such  โ„ข, โ™ฅ, ยฝ

eg as in the book

is OK but not

Good Manners for Nice People Who Sometimes Say Fโ™ฅ, ยฝk

If I was selling pre-decimals, I would certainly do it your way, which is the only sensible way (I mean, how do you fit "threepence halfpenny" in a title?), and keep doing it until I was pulled up; and then I'd complain long and loud.
