I ship daily and have a perfect record for over 11 years, my late postge deficit reads as follows.
3 late deliveries reorted by the carrier
2 late delieveries reported by the buyer
My deficit is 1.66
At this rate another 4 and and I will slip below standard and what the hell has the carrier (Aus Post) got to do with reporting late deliveries ?
I cannot do anymore than post every day and I believe some people would winge evn if I teleported the parcels that day..............

Do you have tracking on your items and are they scanned at time of lodgement. If they are and they were sent within your stated handling time ebay will remove the late delivery defects.

The allowable rate is 5% for late delivery, and that only costs you TRS.
The reported by carrier means the item shows as delivered after eBay's latest estimate and that you didn't get a lofgement scan within your handling time.
If you upload AP tracking details eBay's bots can and do see delivery dates.

If you send with tracking now you must get lodgement scan or you risk a carrier reported defect if it arrives after estimate
if you send without tracking then you are at mercy of a buyer reported defct when they tick the yes no in reference to delivered by estimat edate. Buyer reported does not mean buyer is complaining they are just answering the question.
Bottom line is ebay want to push you into full tracking from time of posting, by putting you to risk for not doing so.
Yep I know some of your items are just not viable as tracked parcel post, Ebay don't care.Going to post office everyday is not viable either, Ebay dont care.
All you can do is extend your handling time and any tracked items take them to PO. Extending handling time will extend estimated delivery time, no guaranteed protection just a bigger margin for error.
If you are out of stock, send a wrong item and fix later. Thats no crime, admitting you are out of stock and cancelleing is.

don't upload tracking. Then the late defects have to be reported by the buyer.

ie dont use ebay labels. Problem is if buyer doesn't respond you dont get a positive return to help your %. Which is the same as letter rate postage.
Dumb thing is by the time a buyer leaves feedback, many probably wouldn't remember when it arrived and so go on perception anyway.
Relying on buyers ticking that box acurately is dodgy anyway as it is nowhere near as important to them as it is to you to get it right.
Hence lodgement tracking is your only savior

If you use ebay satchels and labels then tracking is automatic and the number is added automatically too.

Chill.....I've now got 9.
Backdated all the way to September last year when I'm not even sure I new this new system was coming.....
Most from public holidays (had 1 day handling then) or from me dropping in a box and it not being scanned by AP....
