I ship daily and have a perfect record for over 11 years, my late postge deficit reads as follows.
3 late deliveries reorted by the carrier
2 late delieveries reported by the buyer
My deficit is 1.66
At this rate another 4 and and I will slip below standard and what the hell has the carrier (Aus Post) got to do with reporting late deliveries ?
I cannot do anymore than post every day and I believe some people would winge evn if I teleported the parcels that day..............

Hey all, my defect for an international item has just been removed. As my item had tracking and posted within the 1 day handling time it was removed by the escalation person I just talked too. My item was sold and posted in the same day, but arrived later than expected.
From talking to this woman, eBay satchels were not a problem as long as you lodged and had it scanned by AP in the same day. Did'nt ask about holiday settings, told it was better to post with tracking than posting as a letter, not reliable.
If you do have a defect on your account and have tracking, contact eBay. If the defect was in your handling time, they will forward you to the escalation team to verify your claim and let you know if they can remove it. If you have been doing what I have been doing to posting your items (tracking and within the correct handling times, you should be fine.)
Letters are dying out, not reliable to send your sold items.

OP doesn't have tracking thus the defects.

He did mention most of the defects where from AusPost so defects for parcels that where not lodged at the PO and arrived outside of the ebay estimated time

What next? buyers have click and collect from woolies for after hours pick up, how about click and lodge at woolies for after hours for sellers lodging?
If woollies can scan a pick up (I assume they do) cant they scan a parcel before popping it in an in store post box. If posties are delivering parcels to woolies they can empty and pick up from this box to. Its simply the same as a street box but with a scanner.

How would I know if it wasn't Aus Post who were to blame, I post everyday and have only 2 deficits from the last 12 months from actual customers. Ebay and Australia Post are running rough shot over anyone who uses ebay satchels hence no more for me, they cannot possably get the estimated shipping time right from Bundaberg as it has to go to Brisbane before it is even sorted. The whole thing is a farce and a joke as far as I am concerned

I do not understand why parcels collected from a post box is scanned once they get to the sorting depo to me it makes sense to get things into your system as quick as possible so you know where they are but AusPost does not clearly. The problem is a parcel can sit in a sorting depo for days if it is scanned that is not a problem, for a seller, but as it does not seem to get scanned until it leaves that takes it past most sellers handling time so it then resorts to if it gets there before EBAys crazy estimate.
Not sure if woollies scan parcels but I am sure they would have the ability to do it having click and lodge there would be really good as most are open until 9pm and open both Saturday and Sunday. We can only hope would make life easier for a lot of sellers for sure

You must be putting them in a post box rather than loding at a post office, or the post office ids not lodging them correctly. If you lodge at a post office it would not matter if it took a year to get there you would be cover because you can prove you posted it in your handling time.
Parcel need to be lodge at a Post office not put into a pox box which does suck a bit

Becareful not to get to that stage of below standard.
I ended up there due to buyers lying about not receiving items and had my account suspended a while ago.
I have tried to have it reinstated but today I was told by ebay that it will never again be opened as I never provided a good buying environment for the buying community, what aload of horse **bleep**.
Buyers lied and I got shafted how is that fair?
Let me tell you that if you get to many defects no matter what you will be kicked out and if your selling is the main part of your income
then it's all over and ebay don't give a **bleep**.

Thats all fine but many sellers have day jobs, or dont live near a post office so it is simply not viable. After hours posting may be the only option. For small value items it is hardly time/cost effective

This is what ebay has written to me regarding my selling account.
Thanks for reaching out to eBay pertaining to your account suspension. I understand that this may have caused you much inconvenience, however please know that eBay routinely reviews its member’s accounts in order to protect the entire site. Base on the information gathered, your account has been suspended due to violation of our policy.
Due to the risk presented to the eBay community by your account or actions, we have decided it is in eBay's best interest to deny your appeal. This means that we will not be reinstating your account. Even if you continue to contact us, this will not result in the reinstatement of your account. New accounts that will be created to circumvent this action will result in similar action taken. I wish you the very best in all future endeavours and thanks again for your time.
Warm regards, Bryan E.
eBay customer support Account was suspended and the above is according what happened in ebays point of view. What a load of cow **bleep** because the buyers are the one's that caused the problem and trying to make ebay see this was like headbutting a brick wall lol. I was ripped off, never got any refunds or my items back, buyers kept items and the money.
The defect system is so flawed that sellers will find themselves suspended. My feedback was/is 99.5% and I can't ever sell again so why do I see sellers below 90% still selling and have so many negative feedback. Ebay needs to employ people who know what the **bleep** is going on here.
