Just wondering if anyone else has a business entity as a Trust , our Ebay business account was required to register for managed payments however at the start of the registration it says PLEASE NOTE: if your business entity is a trust, partnership, cooperative or association please do not register for managed payments at this time. Instead, you are required to click here ***********to provide additional information about your business. Did this on the 09/03/2021 says thanks for the info thats it.
Contacted Ebay a couple of weeks ago as we were getting warnings about registering for managed payments eventually they updated our record to continue registration however they only list Company, Partnership , or public listed company as options to select . In the FAQ section to the side is states What entity types aren't supported? Trusts . So recontacted they said not accepting Trust registrations for managed payments at the moment . however they still restricted our listing capabilities and have numerous contacts trying to get the restrictions lifted . Anyone else have the same issue please ? Note the account this discussion is listed on is not our ebay business account .

People here are VERY concerned about the inability to register with eBay as a Trust, you replies are not helping, just filling up space and muddying up the whole thread.
If you want a debate start a thread of your own.
edited to say - I am not a little friend of any one's, simply someone who tries to give advice on the boards where I can, rather than steer them so off track while offering NO advice what so ever
In all fairness - this should also be directed at me - I responded to Cham's posts - I hope we are all still at liberty to post - whenever - whatever.

Totally, but it is not giving the OP any informative answer and if those wanting a debate read the thread they would see the OP and others are quite concerned and don't really need to be reading the in board fighting or debates especially when it is of no relevance at all.
These freaking boards are hard enough to navigate with out us making it harder

if he's too scared to front the boards
Give it a rest. You posted your first request for my 'defence' of your misinterpretation late last evening, then continued to flog it up until lunchtime today.
I start work well before lunch and rarely check the boards before about this time.

There are 2 threads on this subject - already.
I'm not sure there is anyone here - with enough - to give an answer on ' Trusts ' - and their compliance with an eBay selling account.
So - perhaps - instead of circling (sorry) - just say - no idea.
Unless - of course - there is an idea. 🙄

Which is why I posted a link to a thread that has more info, whether the OP see's it, well that is another story of course.

Then why - Mod - a thread.
No-one here can answer a question - of ' Trusts ' - they have to do their own ' homework ' - as far as eBay is concerned.
Unless - of course one has a ' Trust ' - and has managed the pitfalls of such - and is able to give an answer.

Other than the OP it would appear I am the only other poster on this thread who is currently using a trust and is familiar with their workings. It is obvious from davewil1964's post he has absolutely no idea ( just wants to send personal insults ) and Dom is mixing up trusts with partnerships .... an entirely different beast.
My initial post ( first one since board changes have been sorted ) was completely relevant and in response to a question explaining why someone would use a trust on ebay . It was at this point that davewil had to put up his fairly insulting personal comments which misrepresented my use of trusts to infer immoral and possibly illegal activity. ( tax rorting )
I,m just sick to death of the bullying, constant sniping, personal attacks and pile ons conducted by a small group here which have driven a number of regular posters away from these boards to point that most of those who are left are the culprits. If some-one is attacking my character ( as davewil1964 has on this thread ) I have the right to point it out and ask for an explanation or apology. Davewil has wimped out on both accounts.
I,m not the one hijacking the thread. I was firstly offering information directly on topic and subsequently defending my integrity from unjustified personal attacks.
@ kat, I dont appreciate you or others suggesting I should not have the right to do that.
Perhaps it would be more helpful for people such as davewil and dom who very obviously have no idea about trusts to butt out of this discussion and leave it up to those who have experience and knowledge on the subject to comment

I'm not saying that post was called for (I don't think it was phrased appropriately, at any rate), but you have posted multiple times over the years that your ebay businesses are set up in such a way to avoid any of them turning over $75k and therefore needing to register them for GST. I dunno why you couldn't own it here. I'll freely admit my import strategies are done in such a way as to ensure I don't pay import costs (GST on imports is no longer an issue, because I am registered, but before that it obviously was). My point being if someone had said I was dodging tax, I can't but say "yup, but 100% legally". 🤣

Completely different issues.
Small business is being strangled by bureaucratic red tape dreamed up by a bloated public service who have nothing better to do. I dont agree with it and will do anything within the law to reduce the amount of red tape I have to wade through.
Its not tax rorting as it doesnt save me one cent in tax. Under GST I charge the buyer the tax ( they pay it not me ) and I then pass it on to the tax office. Revenue neutral for me but a major headache in paperwork.

So this means you are registered for GST.
