My first neg - it really hurts, doesn't it?

Received my first neg today - I think that it is unjustified as I did describe defects

But what can you do?   Only ask the seller for a revision and that's pretty unlikely to be given.

I would have been happy to refund - why can't sellers write first?

ouch ouch ouch 😞

Don't bother emailing as you'll get told it doesn't meet the requirements for removal.  Click on Customer Support and phone them.  Her feedback says pretty much the same as your description, which it would appear your buyer didn't read.

"Biro scribble through book"  - this should be enough to get it removed.

If you don't get any satisfaction the first time you ring, ring again and ask for a Supervisor:-)

thank you, I will try that but maybe tomorrow - feel too upright right now - think I'll just go and scrub the kitchen floor, hell , maybe I'll scrub the whole house.

I agree with others here.

You have described it well well.

You  should be able to get that removed.

They are complaining about something you clearly state in the listing.

Just because they don't read the listing is no reason for you to wear a neg.

One thing, if the first person you speak to says NO.

Keep trying, as this sort of thing I have seen removed many times.

Good luck and chin up:-)

By the way if you like scrubbing things, my house could do with a clean.;-)

I am not a seller, but I am sure you can get it removed. The buyer obviously didn't read the description. Good luck!

Even after almost 9 years, believe me, it still hurts when you get one, whether it be a neutral or a negative.  I've had two neutrals and one negative removed since last December, but I still remember the names very clearly.

Don't put it off until tomorrow because it will eat away at you.  Ring now:-)

Yeah, it seems the buyer just didn't read the description. Should be easily enough removed with eBay's help.

You could respond with the a comment inspired by the no extra payment for the artwork or similar, I probably would but then I am not particularly bothered about feedback.

Only ever received any once, from the same person, and I was not hurt but extremely annoyed not by the feedback but by the fact she tried to scam me. I was almost disappointed when they were removed as I really enjoyed composing the followups.

I would email them saying you are very sorry but had you not included the biro markings the item would have definitely been not as described and you would have been more than happy to refund if it had been returned.

Keep trying with ebay, where one person won't help another might.

My question would be "What did the buyer expect when they got a 55 year old collectible book for 20 bucks?"

Sheesh, seems they all think they should get all books cheap these days. I blame the dropshippers. Even though I doubt they sell collectibles, they have put that expectation into buyers' minds.

I commend the seller for being honest and specific with the markings... sometimes it's luck of the draw as far as "good" or "very good" condition goes.
