While I’m in here today I have anther question that someone might have a quick answer to, and save me more research. I’m already quite confused with what I’m reading.
We are capable of a lot of diversification and have the stock that would warrant opening an eBay Store (with name change), but we’ve been going fairly cautiously for reasons I think you’ll all understand.
My question is this: Are we able to firstly change our name with our current account? My reading indicates not a problem, but this is the one I’m not clear with - Can we then open a store with the new name and more or less transfer everything across form our current (name changed) account?
I’d prefer to do this than open a new account, or store, and start all over again. I can find plenty of info about opening a store, but nothing directly specific to what I’m trying to achieve.
Many thanks,
Melina.

If I were you I'd open the store on your current selling account and call it by the new name you want to use. In 30 days time change the name on the new account, then 30 days later change your current selling account's username to the new username.
The 60 day wait will give your regular buyers a chance to get used to your new store name and will know who you are when they eventually see your new username in their feedback. That way if they want to find you again after several months they're more likely to be able to do so.

Thanks everyone. Your kind help and suggestions are invaluable.
The way forward if I’m understanding correctly seems to be....
On my newly formed (inactive account), which bears the name i want to use - change it to anything.
Wait 30 days.
Then change the ClubEsquire account name to what was the original of the newly formed (inactive account).
Wait a few days.
Then subscribe to a store. The name will carry through.
Have I got it folks .... lol.
Thanks,
Melina.

You can open the store anytime you like. In fact, that is what the rabbit suggested.
The store attaches to the account, not the user ID, so it is not dependent on waiting 60 days for you to be able to change your current club ID.

Once upon a time a username could never be 'recycled' even if the person originally using it closed their account, but when my friend changed her name last year she found that a name becomes available again 30 days after it's last used. That means once you change your newest username (to anything), you won't be able to use it on your older account for another 30 days. Hopefully that explains better what I said originally.
