I sell plants at markets and want to sell them at ebay too. I know about gov. restrictions.
The aim is to make a living salary, not now but say in a year.
What is better: start with free listings or a shop?
Do I have to get an ABN number right away or later? What is better if both is necessary?
As I sell plants, not all are looking good all year round - that means I need at least a year to get my own photos. Is it legal to
use photos on the net as long as there is no copyright on them?
What about public liability?

Thanks for that! That does not sound good. BUT if the first month I list 10 plants get a positive feedback how many could I list in thesecond month and thereafter?

You will be limited to 10 listings until you get a feedback of 50
You can only ask for an increase once per month - if you're lucky
you'll get one

If you attach a credit card to your account you SHOULD get more listings.
I did it when I opened this account and got 100 and $US7500.
My other non-store ID started the same but recently got bumped to 130 then 160 without asking, but that one sells 5-10 per month. Once you have a track record of satisfied buyers you can request, monthly, increases in listing limits.
You can only list, whatever your limits, any combination such that if everything sells it doesn't go over your limit. Qty 10 of 1 item; qty 1 of 10 items is the same as far as limits are concerned.
Try the CC thing, which definitely includes Visa debit cards, not sure about Mastercard, but should be the same.
It's a reasonably recent thing too. When I opened my store ID in 2008 there were no limits from Day 1. Luckily, or I probably wouldn't have gone ahead.
