New way for ebay to FEE GRAB

I had a buyer with O feedback from the usa BIN my opium tassle bottle, she has made absolutely NO contact of an sort despite my invoicing & follow up email.

I have just applied to CANCEL the transaction...one of the clauses is as follows : If the buyer declines to cancel the transaction, this case will be automatically closed and you will not receive a Final Value Fee credit.

So I have a phantom buyer & I LOSE both ways & ebay benefits both ways, listing fees & Final Value fees.

I think this is one for the financial ombudsman to be looking at !!!!!!!!

I am not an expert in anything to do with selling, but instead of a cancellation shouldnt you do a non paying buyer dispute instead ?

I've never senn that before.  But then I rarely cancel transactions; I open an NPB dispute because I believe "you buy, you pay or suffer the consequences"]:)

PS - there are some exceptions:-)

Open NPB now and close in 4 days, buyer will get a strike and you will get your fvf credited. eBay are not ripping you off, you just need to follow the correct procedure.

Unfortunately, once you open a cancellation, you can't switch to an Unpaid Item case (you can switch from a UPI to a request to cancel, but not the other way around). The buyer has up to 7 days to either accept or decline the cancellation. If they do not respond at all, you can close it manually after 7 days (up to 30-odd days) and receive the FVF credit.

I would recommend that if a buyer is not responding at all, always use the UPI process. You can use personal judgement as to what kind of case to open if a buyer is communicating and lets you know they don't want to go ahead with the transaction.

Yes, you are all right, I should have opened the UPI case, but stupidly thought cancelling the sale may be a quicker way to get it back on ebay....that certain backfired in more ways than one.

Still not heard a word from her. She is probably the sister of the woman with the $85.00 one up for sale in the US...mine was 30.00$ cheaper so didn't look good .. but what she didn't take time to observe was that mine didn't contain the bottle so naturally less expensive.

I don't have any more perfume bottles so it will be out of context when I finally get to relist it.

All O feedbackers should HAVE to communicate with seller before being allowed to bid !
