keep saying.. same here..the ebay experience is drudgery compared to previous years..sales down by 65% to 70% compared to last year..yet ebay's fees increase & for what??. site..and everything else haven't changed in years..the "alta vista" or "myspace" of auction sites..ebay satchels are another "racket"..posted an item to a customer early this week to sydney metro address and get told by Australia post it wont be there till early next week..insult to injury..ebay takes a slice from that postage cost..whatever happened to putting things in the post box prior to 6pm and having it delivered the next day??? ebay is no fun anymore

You would have to ask eBay that.
eBay have a lot to answer for, but Australia Post delivery times isn't one of them.

If you were around here 10 years ago you would easily see that the rot of diminished sales is a direct result of ebay deleting thousands of logical sub categories and replacing them with item specifics so as to launch their incredibly dodgy and in my opinion criminal "best match default" system .. they called it "disruptive innovation" and your average seller has seen diminishing returns for effort ever since .. no surprise that sales are going from bad to worse as that has been the trend year in year out for at least 9 years .. basically buyers simply have trouble locating your items unless they specifically search for it via the heavily spammed and near dysfunctional keyword search tool whilst ebay insiders and those who know how to game the system are at the top of every page of search results which spew forth from the near satanic ebay cassinni ssrver like a delusional madman's breakfast ..

I think the only way to succeed these days is to live in China. Some of the things I sell are also available from China and their auctions will end 10 times higher than mine do. Given that the Chinese are always at the top of the search results, for pretty much every category, it makes sense theirs are going to sell for a much higher price.

Yes and eBay's still messing with search parameters, I have one of my "followed seaches" as "hibachi" and up until recently it showed mostly Japanese Hibachies, then a week or so ago nothing in there for their hibachies at all.
The only way I can see their listings is to search for "Japanese Hibachi" which then knocks out the ones that aren't Japanese.....grrrrr.
I'm now wondering how many more of my saved searches have been similarly butchered by yet another eBay "improvement"...........

Tippy,
My wife is Chinese and she will be going over to China before Xmas. We are seriously considering opening a Chinese registered selling ID in China and then list & sell thru ebay.AU as we do now. Of course our products will all be located here and shipped form here. Prices will reflect AU prices not Chinese prices but we would have them beaten hands-down on postage time. LOL.
We have wondered if because the ID would be registered in China we might get up higher in the search results just because of that alone.
Gotta be worth the experiment methinks.
Wonder if we can get away with blue murder and break every policy in the book too as they seem to?
