No sales?

No one has started a "my sales are dead" post for a few days so I thought I'd keep the tradition going.

Anyone else suffering from a run of "lights out" at the moment?  My website shop is also similarly dead.  Maybe it's the time of year or maybe it's just me.  How are you going?

Yep, down 40% now on long term average ( and still falling ). I thought I would do the old trick of going out and finding some gems to spice things up a bit, but even that isn't working at the moment. I,ve purchased three lots of high quality stock in the last 3 weeks and barely got my money back. Normally I would expect to triple my money within a couple of weeks and still have half the stock to sell over time.

I,ve decided to pull my head in and just list some of the stuff in storage. That way, what I do sell is all profit as the storage stock doesn't owe me anything. I,m also spending a lot more time on the sheep business. With recent widespread rains following the drought, sheep prices are mind boggling. I,m just very thankful I diversified my income streams a few years ago, rather than having all of my eggs in the ebay basket.

I'd like it more if sales were happening.

Re: No sales?

The announcement of the closure of Holden on Monday triggered a bunch of Holden-related sales.

It is interesting how news like this gets people thinking, lookng and buying.  I think a similar thing happened when Elvis, Michael Jackson and other similar celebrities died.

Please tell me it wasn't one of the blue ones? I loved the blue VK Brock Special.

100k would be handy right now.

All of the old Commodores have just jumped up in value.

Got an 84' VK SS sitting around, might start dusting it off.

This weekend and sales are back to normal.  Wherever it rains in Australia, sales pick up from those locations as buyers head indoors.

The 'beer' virus is starting to effect sales and suppliers in different ways.  Chinese sellers are definately being effected as many workers are not going to work.  This will impact the bigger Chinese sellers.  Couriers are not picking up goods either and outbound mail is slowing as there are less postal workers on the ground.

We placed orders with our Chinese suppliers 3 weeks ago in preparation for return to work after the Lunar NY holiday.  Usually they ship in days.  Half have shipped and half are awaiting picking, packing or pick up.

I was reading the feedback on a big Chinese seller earlier and it will be interesting to see if their neutral or negative numbers will blow out with delivery delays.  They are currently sitting at 105 negative and 48 neutral for the month.

Suddenly had a big day yesterday which made quite a big difference to my rolling sales average. Only down around 20% on long term average now with some of the gems purchased in the last couple of weeks selling yesterday. I still have some of this high quality stock to list, so will try to get it done over the weekend as it appears to be working towards kick starting sales again..

I diversified into Materials, Health Care, Information Technology and Consumer Discretionary... I never thought about Sheep or Cars.  I must speak to my investment advisor.
