Non Paying Bidder

I have recently had a non paying bidder and when looking at her feedback, she literally has not paid for 100's of items. Why does ebay allow these people to stay on here and keep bidding.

There is mention of another ID of same buyer in feedback comments - so it appears that even if blocked the pest creates another buying account and then do the same thing again to some sellers

A signficant proportion of this would be prevented if eBay protected sellers by having maximum non payment blocks in place when accounts were opened, with sellers then having to choose to opt out and adjust their own settings accordingly.

What actually happens when you get a policy violation?  Lights out for awhile?  Restricted selling limits?

Never had a level of violations to experience restrictions.

On the Powersellers boards some report short periods of selling restrictions.

I'm currently dealing with someone who obviously has no strikes against her for serial non-payment.  Bid at the last minute, so you have no chance to review previous feedback.  I have opened a non-payment dispute with ebay and hope that there will be some way she is 'highlighted' as a serial non-payer or have her buying restricted  ....... I cannot believe that I am the only seller who has done that with this bidder/buyer (but I must say, it's only because I read this community board that I know what to do).  You should read her feedback!!!!!  Her serial non-payment goes back years !!!  Seems like sellers don't know how to 'report' her and certainly haven't opened a non-payment dispute.  I can now block her after having dealt with her, but those who haven't will continue to be stuffed around by this ebay member.  Wish I could put her ID number up here.

Does this buyer have 807 feedback currently?

According to eBay Customer Service, the amount of unpaid strikes a buyer can get before anything is done is classified inside information and they can't reveal it. In the case of the OP's non payer, you must be able to accumulate over 1,000 UPI's before anything is done.

243 feedback.  So that is perhaps a way to alert others?  I can state the amount of feedback and that will alert other sellers who can then access my "sold listings" to identify this member?

I currently have a couple of items awaiting "pick up" - the buyers have been in constant contact with me - will pay on pick up and all is fine.

I feel like sending ebay messages to all those sellers who left positive feedback with VERY negative content and urge them to report her.

Wow! Thought it was 3 non payments and you were out. Must have been misinformed and ebay thought the extra 00's were just noughts as going by this it must be 300 -or maybe 3000?? Great trust and safety ebay.....

No, the buyers ID is only visible to you. The only way we can see who it is, is if you name them in feedback.

The reason I asked the feedback number was the OP's non payer had that many and I wondered if it was the same one. Incidenally, that "buyer" is still buying, despite numerous reports to eBay who have said they are checking her account and if they see anything untoward they will take action. I am not holding my breath!
