Each time i look at my item, it is counted as a view. Previously, your own views did not count. Any way to remedy this?

I have never found any correlation between the number of views and watchers and the likelihood of a sale โ€ฆ of course this must have been said in jest

.

You can not have sales without views

.

And also, most importantly, the number of views/watchers shows whether you have listed the item correctly, in the right category, have used the correct keywords, title etc

.

If I list an item and do not have views/watchers then something is wrong โ€ฆ that in itself is an excellent reason to check your listings

Very easy remedy, stop looking at your own items lol. I have never found any correlation between the number of views and watchers and the likelihood of a sale so don't waste my valuable time wondering if anyone is clicking on my items. In fact posting on the boards with your selling id can lead to an increase in views with absolutely no increase in sales so I would definitely not bother looking any time soon LOL.

I have always found the opposite of PJ.  My number of views and the number of watchers directly correlates with sales overtime.

Not sure of simple solutions regarding this.

I use inkfrog to list, and in addition to a quicker listing process and photo hosting service, it provides me with real-time and over-time reporting view and sales data and excludes my ISP address from all counts, but it comes with a monthly fee of about $15. You would need to have a decent turnover and a more on-going commitment to increasing your sales, to make it worth your while IMO.   For me its worth every cent I pay, but for others it would be a big waste of money.

Cats i agree that if you are selling on the scale you are then statistics of any and every sort are important, especially if you are selling multiples and I use sales and traffic reports on my store id although I don't look at individual listings but on my smaller auction id which never has more than the allotment of free listings available I don't bother because the number of views is not going to make me change anything so I consider it rather a waste of time looking.

If you use basic selling manager or pro selling manager you can configure your selling page to show views and watchers without having to click on individual listings.

PHORUM JUNKIE, I note with interest your comment that posting on the boards with selling ID can see an increase in views without increase in sales. I have had that experience in the past. After posting on the boards I recieved a very dramatic increase in traffic according to omniture. ( ten to twenty times as much traffic including what appeared to be extensive international traffic )  My assumption was that my account had been placed on some groups monitering system, as analysis of traffic showed some very strange things going on and there was very little tapering off of numbers over months of traffic analysis following first post on boards. There did not appear to be anything unduly malicous in the unusual traffic patterns, just ongoing monitering of my sales etc. from feedback information. Does any of the regular posters on these boards know what the story is ?
